I slowly opened my eyes, the sound of soft running water entered my ears as the smell of wet minerals entered my nose. Steam floated through the air wafting off of the enormous hot spring that sat towards the back of the room. A small waterfall flowed gently out of the wall and into the hot spring.

That's when I noticed Marta, she sat next to me in the hot spring a slightly shocked expression on her face as she stared up at me blinking slowly.

"What is it?" I asked frowning

"What is it?" I asked frowning.

She looked down, a small sad smile on her face. "I...thought that you were still angry with me."

"Why would I be mad at you?" I asked confused.

She frowned as she leaned on the edge of the hot spring, just beneath her chest I saw the familiar ball of light hovering there. As she looked away from me it seemed to pulse slightly.

For a few moments she was silent then her eyes met mine again. "I...scared you when I used that spell. I didn't expect it to cause that much damage but it was the only option, if I hadn't..." she whispered, letting out a soft sniffle.

I opened my mouth to tell her that it was fine since it was our only option but instead I said something else. "I'm not mad that you used that spell," I grumbled the words coming out against my will.

My body felt odd like something was trying to smother my thoughts. I could feel a slight tug at the edge of my mind.  It felt like I was trapped inside my own flesh as my body continued to act against my will.

Marta frowned moving a bit closer as she stared at me. "You're trying to lie? To me, of all people?" Despite the tear streaks on her face, her white pupils seemed to bore into my soul.

I sighed. "I'm not mad...if anything I'm relieved. Honestly, when I found you out there in that crater I thought the worst. I'm glad that I was wrong. I'm glad that you're still here." I told her softly.

Marta's eyes went wide as she froze staring up at me, she blinked slowly but said nothing. She looked at me as though she almost couldn't believe what I had just said.

The world around me flickered as my vision spun making me close my eyes for a moment. A soft whimper entered my ears as I slowly opened my eyes, I found myself once again surrounded in a world of pure white.
