Lost 2 Gain 2 /2/

/This is an original oneshot by yours truly~ It is a single dad! Steve, this is a mixture of tension, sadness and some relief. My own twist cause fanfiction/

Summary:
Steve had lost two things
precious to him, He first lost
Bucky... His best friend and
the one who helped him with
caring for Steve's son. Then
he lost his little boy when the
child was only 8 years of
age...

...

The room was littered with the scent of blood and dead bodies. A child stood in the center of it all however...

An empty gaze as there were many people twice his size dead on the ground...

eyes gauged out, necks decapitated, limbs torn or sliced off, brutal gunshots or the heart being ripped out of their chest

"Well done."

The day flashed by just like that, the pain was numb for Peter at that time as he was pushed back into his... cell. The boy just stayed there in a daze before trying to gain as much sleep as he could. But he was unable to.

Every day was on repeat like what the boy imagined school would be like, a schedule running over and over on repeat... with no change.

He questioned if he would ever see the outside again, the years went by painfully numb. It felt like an eternity stuck in the cell, the grey concrete falls in which were flawlessly made... some of it cracking but not enough to break.

Steve and Bucky still couldn't find Peter, and Steve couldn't take it as much as he could anymore... everything had been settled while the two men walked to the tower, Steve was more quiet than usual, today was suppose to be Peter's 15th Birthday.

When they went in the elevator the Captain tried not to cry, he began to make strangled sobs when they entered. Bucky rubbing circles on Steve's back, trying to comfort his best friend.

"We'll find him Steve..."

"We've been trying so hard Bucky. I have been trying so hard... It had been 5 years since he's been gone. I miss him, I failed Buck, I failed to keep my vow to him..."

The other Avengers in the room never saw the man in this state before, it was unique and upsetting...

"What's wrong Capsicle?" Tony asked while leaning on the kitchen island sipping a coffee. "I lost a kid Tones, my kid..." Their heart broke at those words, until one of them spoke up. It was Tony "Wait... Capsicle has a kid? since when?"

"When Mary Parker got shot in the head by those men." Bucky muttered in distaste as Natasha furrowed her eyebrows, the name was so familiar that when she realised... the ex-assassin was also silent.

"We'll keep trying Steve, We'll keep trying." Natasha nodded as they got up.

...

Peter was told to get up and so he did, trudging in pain to where he was given a mission... he knew not to speak.

"Aranya, your mission is to take Captain America... dead or alive. And if you are lucky, get the Winter Soldier."

The boy nodded before speeding off to where the locations were tracked, he grew closer and closer to the tower... sneaking inside without the Ai being alerted. When he crawled inside the boy was on the ceiling, creeping silently until he found his target.

He grabbed his gun and aimed it at the tall blonde man, clicking the trigger... it fired.

But a metal arm blocked the way deflecting the bullet away, with the small boy dodging it in time, and Aranya wasn't wearing his mask. "Peter? Petey?" The man that Aranya had recognised as The Winter Soldier seemed to be his bonus.

When the other Avengers took notice they started to get into fighting stance, even without their suits they stood tall.

"P...Peter?" Steve's eyes widened at his baby boy, all grown up... but he knew something was off, he knew that empty look, the dead silence, he had lost another.

"Wait, hold on. This kid that is literally aiming to kill you Capsicle is your kid?" Clint asked as he pointed at the boy with his bow and arrow at the ready. "HYDRA..." And so... the fight began, Shots were fired in which the guns switched to knives, it was a rough battle but something seemed to snap his son out of it.

"Peter!" Then the man hugged him, making the boy sob and break down. His Peter was back, but scarred as well...

"Dad... I... I was so scared" He still clung onto his father in dear desperation, Bucky hugged the boy in which he calmed down while being wrapped around with the metal arm.

"Peter, I missed you so much... I promised to protect you, for Mary's sake... for your mum's sake." The man hugged him tightly when the smaller boy felt salty tears drip down the man's face onto Peter's forehead.

"I love you dad..."

...

It took alot of time to recover and enroll Peter into school, They put him under as Peter Benjamin Parker... Steve was put as Richard Parker. The man chuckled while he stroked his hand in Peter's brown locks, in which Peter calmed down and melted into.

"Alright Petey, time for you to go to school."

Peter looked up at his father, the boy didn't want to go to school and just wanted to stay with his father or with his uncle.

"Come on Petey... Or Uncle Bucky won't make pancakes when he comes back."

The boy got dressed up and ate breakfast before packing his bag and leaving. "Peter, remember. No fights, don't get in trouble, eat food, I love you bunny."

The boy gave an obedient nod before hugging his dad and walking out the door. It had been a while since Peter adjusted to school and along with that his school was Midtown, smart people school.

...

He could hear the bell for the last period go off and the teacher rambling on, the boy didn't pay any attention before getting picked by the teacher.

"...Peter what is the answer?" The boy looked up and stared at the board before saying the answer in which he got right.

As usual the lesson droned on and the bell went off but something caught his interest... a slip in the woman's hand. "Hold on class! I have good news for all of you, we got a slip to go to the Avengers Tower!"

Peter looked up with starry eyes, in which Flash just nudged his shoulder painfully.

That just meant he could meet his dad, and his uncle Bucky! Peter eagerly took a slip and dashed out of the school in enthusiasm...

This was going to be fun for Peter.
