It took a while for the ice to thaw away but the matches continued as scheduled.

"Now that the ring has finally been cleared, let's welcome our next contestants for the second match!" The two contestants were exiting from different sides as the next match was about to roll out.

"Even beautiful flowers have thorns..." Present Mic began announcing them as they walked to the battle ring. A girl with long lush green and prickly vines for tresses entered.

"It's the assassin from class 1-B; Ibara Shiozaki from the Hero course."

"Versus...the boy with the electric personality. The Hero in the making, Denki Kaminari!" The crowd roared in merriment as the opponents approached the ring.

"Um...pardon my interruption..." Shiozaki rose a hand and faced the announcer booth.

"I'm not sure why you call me an assassin. I've come to the festival in search of victory, not to take my opponent's life. That wouldn't be in the line with the values of being a hero at all, sir."

"Gentlemen, I did not apply for UA for wicked or selfish reasons, but to deliver salvation to others. It is my mission to spread true good across this world." Light shined over her as if she was an angel sent by The Man.

"Wow, ain't she a saint?" Toya sweat-dropped.

"That was my bad, okay?" Present Mic said embarrassed. "I thank you for your kind understanding," she bowed respectively then faced her competitor.

"20 bucks says Kaminari loses," LaToya smirked connivingly. "40. We think he'll win," Kirishima and Mina betted.

"Deal."

It hadn't been 5 minutes but the match was already over.

"Shiozaki advances to the second round!" And with that, their match ended.

"Pay up, suckers," the Shadow Master Quirk user held her hand out and gestured to pay up with her hand. "Aww, man. We should've seen this coming," they both sighed and gave up their money to Toya.

A devilish grin grew on her face. You could tell this was a habit she developed in juvie. But mostly when the inmates on her to lose, boy were they all terrible at gambling. "Kaminari is your classmate, have you no shame?" Tokoyami reprimanded.
