LATOYA'S POV-

_________________________________________

Ugh...that curry was gross...

After the curry I just ate, I felt like taking a walk around the forest. Mostly because I went out looking to see where Darcy and Kota disappeared off to. I could sense where they were because of the connection between Darcy and me, so I blindly went to a thin pathway - leading to a cliff with a small cave nearby.

Darcy, Izuku, and Kota were already there and they seemed to have somewhat a little chat.

"Get lost. I don't wanna hang out with you! So forget my secret hideout!"

I hid in the shadows of the forest and watched them, without one of them - aside from Darcy - sensing my presence. "Hey, about your parents..." Midoriya spoke softly. "Were they the Water Hose Heroes, with the Water Quirks?"

"Did Mandalay tell you!?" Kota shouted at him, not liking the fact about his parents were being talked about without his knowledge.

"Well...umm...it's a..." Izuku mumbled. From last night I heard everything. They were a Hero couple...just like my parents, and they died while on duty. I crossed my arms and leaned on the bark behind me. In some way, Kota and I had something in common. I also resented Heroes after Mom and Dad died. But Kota's resentment has whole another twist. And now that I think about it...there was a mass news report about it years back. Their murderer is still at large.

"Sorry..." Izuku uttered.

"I heard a little about what happened to them. And based on that information, I figured. I read about that horrible incident a few years ago." The kid sighed and walked over to Darcy, I noticed he's grown onto Darcy quite suddenly. And Darcy too. She jumped towards the boy and already petted her. I couldn't help but hold still from the sudden tickles.

"Just go away," Kota hissed.

"Everyone here is so crazy. People calling stupid names, like Hero or Villain - and then killing each other because of it! Always focused on their Quirks! If they haven't been showing off, they'd be here right now! Idiots." I quirked a brow in fascination, Kota doesn't just hate Heroes.

He hates the concept of a superhuman society.
His points are valid, if my parents weren't Heroes, then maybe...we would've had different career choices. Maybe they would've not pressured Kiki into being exceptional. And...I wonder if Dad felt the same. Dad's journal from starting as a Hero student looked like a stressful turn in his life. From Mr. Jiro's words, he was more passionate about music than doing Hero work. Maybe my grandparents - whom I've never even met - went through the same thing...like how Mom and Dad did to Kiki.

To become Heroes. By teaching her in the only way they knew how. "We're done here! Go back to camp with the other losers!" Kota yelled again. I heaved a sigh and decided to walk out of my hiding spot.

"There you are, Darcy." The two quickly turned their heads toward me. "T-Toya-chan!"

"What are you doing here? Leave!" Kota spat sharply, Darcy then made her way back to my shoulders. "I'd say the same about Midoriya here."

"So...you heard everything?" He said. "From last night," I shrugged. Then turned to Kota. "Hey, you don't mind if I talk with the kid?" I side-glanced at Midoriya.

"Umm...s-sure." He gave me a plate of curry rice and left me and the kid. He stared straight at the view of the forest whilst stars glistened in the night sky. "What do you want? I don't have anything to say to you." Kota spat.
