When I'd officially crossed the nonexistent threshold of the room and Jones had spoken, I dropped my self full onto the carpeted floor. Anna just stood over me rather calmly, leaning against the door. "Well, well, well, Jane," she said, coming closer and standing over me," you come rushing' in here with no shoes on, I need answers." I was slightly taken aback by how sober she still was as if not even a drop of alcohol had hit her lips. "Well, while you all were out dancing the night away, Max had provided a pair of roller skates, and we skated under the Arc and down the Champs," I answered, cracking a small smile just thinking about it," But we lost track of time." Anna grinned and fell back on the couch," So it was a date?" I sighed, knowing I wasn't going to escape this conversation without giving her oh-so-wanted answer. "No, just some friendly roller skating," I replied promptly, and she chuckled before answering. "Well, if you'd heard what came out of Joah and Finn after a few drinks. Apparently, Max can't shut up about you," I raised an eyebrow, not knowing whether to believe the drunk talk those guys delivered, but something in me seemed to want it to be true. "Weird thing to confess while buzzed, you know," I said and only now stood up from the ground. She nodded," whatever you want to believe, but they didn't let any secret go cold."

I seated myself next to her before asking," why are you so sober, though?" She raised her shoulders," don't know, didn't feel the hype there and was not down to drop 5 euros on a bottle lachaude." I smirked and took a look around," Where's Jackie-Chan?" She chuckled before answering:" Oh, she had the time of her life and is now comatose for the next 10 hours, I expect." "What did she do?" I asked wearily, not believing the answer could be anything but healthy, borderline legal, or regretless. She had some inside fun before sharing: "She wiped out as many bottles as the trio, took a bet with a stranger — which she ultimately lost because she couldn't count to 3 in French," I looked at her in disbelief, but I knew this was stuff Anna wouldn't make up. "And what did she owe him?" I asked when I felt like I could control my laughter. "A kiss with the monsieur that dared her," she said with a wide smile, clearly happy to have that memory projected on the back of her eyelids. "She kissed a boy?" I asked, and she nodded enthusiastically. "Everything in her mind can come undone with something with a percentage," I mumbled, and Anna nodded in response. "Not only in her, those Parisians also aren't so holy either."

That night I had to crash on the couch, because Jackie had gotten it in her drunken mind to sleep like a bridge between our beds. Although I was happy they were back, safe, and sound, I would've preferred to sleep on my mattress. Sadly I couldn't wake her even if I had the horn of a boat. I hadn't truly seen her this bashed before; I didn't really go out to occasions with them where she'd shift into this sloshed form. Oh well, I survived the night sleeping lightly and being woken up by a Max induced ping on my phone.

I couldn't hold back my smile; it made me feel some type of way to see a text like that. I'd regretted how the night had ended last night, primarily because of its hecticness; I didn't even get the chance to thank him. If that 1 AM rule weren't set, I would've done everything differently.

I locked my phone before fishing a blonde lock out of my face and slowly sat up again. The light had crawled from in between the skimmy curtains into the room. I rubbed my eyes and went to get a status update on Anna, who seemed awake at first glance. "Hey," I said while leaning against the doorframe. "Hey," she answered weakly than I was used from her. "Is something wrong?" I asked carefully, but she laughed. "Nah, I was so tired, but I couldn't really sleep," she answered with a smile. "So, now sleeping on it for a night, can you call your adventure on wheels an actual date?" She asked jokingly while standing up and giving me a poke on the shoulder. I rolled my eyes, yet still answered: "Yes." Her eyes widened; more than I expected," So you really like him?". She was acting like a girl from kindergarten, which made me grin. "You're truly not sounding like a high school senior right now," I said in a severe tone, but she shook her head before I could even say the first three words. "That isn't an answer to my question, dear," she said and looked at me curiously. "Maybe..., I mean—, I've never felt love before, so I can't tell if that's what I'm feeling," I mumbled, whereafter Anna grabbed both my shoulders gently.

"Jane, love feels different for every single person. But you'll only know for sure when, in one moment, all your feelings will fall into place like a puzzle that you can look at to see the full picture. Your mind can change in a millisecond, but when it does, it won't go back; trust me," I smiled while she pulled me into a hug. Before I could give any words in return, I heard another notification come in.

When I'd read it myself, I turned the screen towards Anna, who looked at it with a frown

When I'd read it myself, I turned the screen towards Anna, who looked at it with a frown. "I have a feeling it's about last night," I said and bit on the inside of my lip, maybe those feelings weren't shared after all. "He could also be typing rather seriously just to get you to go with him to take you bungee jumping or something," Anna joked, and I smiled. "So, go?" I asked, and she nodded in return.

I answered and went to my room where I came to the harsh realization; "Anna," I yelled back, which made her pop her head in

I answered and went to my room where I came to the harsh realization; "Anna," I yelled back, which made her pop her head in. "Can I borrow a pair of shoes? Max still has mine," She smiled and got back to me with a pair of baby blue converses. "Here," she said, but when she looked me up and down, she couldn't hold back laughter. "What?" I asked, not seeing where this humor was coming from. "I don't think you really want to walk on the Champs-Élysées in your pajama's," she said through giggles, and I subconsciously hit myself on the head, I need to learn to get more sleep.
