'Cracks'-Chapter 31

The Next Morning:

No One's POV:

Rusty got up earlier than normal not being able to sleep from the pain of more cracks forming on his skin, causing him to silently groan in pain with his hand round his mouth trying to hold in the pain so he wouldn't wake up his sleeping beauty. Rusty slowly removed the covers from his body getting up and hovered out the door with no disturbance. He flew down the stairs looking up them to see if Pink would have followed. He blew a sigh of relief after a few seconds of waiting then the pain really came back.

"Hey, Rusty" A familiar voice whispered.

Rusty's eyes jolted around the room for the person who called his name until his eyes landed upon a dark brown-haired female on her phone not looking away from the screen.

"Julia?" Rusty called out.

"Why you down here?" Julia questioned lowering down her phone turning it off while sitting up.

"No reason" Rusty struggled to make out with the pain thumping in his arm.

Julia leaned a little to see a small faded white light to where Rusty's new crack had formed. Julia could now make an understanding of why Rusty was down here... He was in pain. Julia rolled her eyes a looked a little sorrowful at her young farther and took his hand and led him down the basement and into the void. At this point, while falling Julia let go of Rusty's hand to brace herself for the floor below the two voids. As soon as Rusty and Julia landed, Rusty looked around a fairly big room, Julia's room, Julia then walks over to a bedside table searching her draws mumbling to herself "Where is it?" repeatedly. While Julia searched for... Whatever she was looking for Rusty wandered around the room - not snooping - Just looking at the book collection that she had all neatly in a row, some books being murder mystory and some of just void stuff. A loud "Aha!" filled the room as Julia, now walking over to Rusty, took Rusty's hand and placed the vile in his palm. 

"What's this?" Rusty said curiously.

"All I can say is that it'll help with the cracks and pain" Julia smiled.

"You use it?" Rusty questioned.

"Y-Yeah... Joy's of being half-human half-void" Julia giggled nervously scratching the back of her head.

"How come?" Rusty once again questioned the half-human girl. Rusty's question caught her a bit off guard.

"Well, you see being a void you get cracks in your original form, right? Well for me I haven't got a form like that so this is my form and as I'm half-human I can feel emotions and pain so that means when cracks for they are like agony to me so I get a few drops from this vile a day and rub it on me where a crack is about to form" Julia explained.

"Then don't you need this more than me?" Rusty said holding the vile closer to Julia. She pushed Rusty's hand gently away from her.

"It's a difficult recipe but it's simple now since I make one every month, after all, you di-" Julia covered her mouth before she could reveal any more.

"I did what?"

"Ugh not you - I mean my Dad eh eh you two look awfully similar, to be honest, sorry" Julia apologized.

"It's fine" Rusty laughed a little.

"You should go get some sleep... you guys have an exciting adventure soon," Julia said with an almost convincing fake smile.

"You know, Julia, maybe you should come on this adventure with us seeing you can make a potion as complex as this which even I didn't even know existed, your more powerful than I thought". Rusty admitted. He looked at Julia's face to see the excitement flush into her.

"Thank's Rusty!" Julia squealed. Julia checked her phone for the time to see that they've been in the void for almost 3 hours in earth time.

"Rusty, it's 7:00 AM" The two voids look up at each other.

"Shoot," They say in unison before flying back up from the void and back on earth.
