the clock's arm has just reached seven. tonight is a chill summer night, the type of coldness that reaches one's bones and leaves their heart an open door to its icy wind.
seungwan stares blankly outside the window as the blanket keeps her warm. watching her breaths rise as white puffed clouds against the glasses, she allows her brain to be empty, no content exists. but the emptiness is soon intruded by the image of a certain man, as she sees him making his way to her cottage.
min yoongi, he finally came.
courteously, the woman wraps the blanket around her body and heads downstairs, ready to welcome the guy. as soon as the butler opens the door, a grin creeps onto her face that brightens the dim room.
"good evening, sunbae." she runs to yoongi, greeting him with emotional warmth.
"evening, hoobae." he smiles back, softly as usual.
"come in," seungwan leads him to the living room, offering the man to sit down. "i baked something for you. ya like it with tea?"
"sure," yoongi settles himself on the vintage-designed sofa. "you made it with jungkook right?"
"correct!" the girl exclaims happily as she brings out a box of dessert from the kitchen, placing it on the table.
"thank god you didn't burn it like him." yoongi sighs in relief, recalling the inedible bread loaf jungkook made for yerim the other day.
"the boy tried, though." seungwan chuckles, finding her spot next to yoongi. "help yourself, sunbae."
on the table now are apricot cream puff and chocolate dacquoise, what a treat. they are placed nicely on a golden stand, earl grey tea on the side, just like in every romantic teahouse. her house has once again turned into a decent bakery, with its mouth-watering displays that could lure any customer passing by.
yoongi spares some time observing the cake, appreciating its visual. the aroma of sweets take him by the hand and leads him inside its magical ride, each one is soft to the touch.
then with a gentle bite, the puff is split in half, introducing its luscious cream filling into his mouth. instead of chewing, yoongi lets the pastry melt onto his tongue and his eyes closing to deepen the pleasure moment. and before realization comes, the man has already taken another tour at the dacquoise, seeking for a new taste of cocoa.
"is it good?" seungwan's eyes sparkle, waiting for the other's response.
"damn, i need three times more of these." swallowing the chocolate piece, he answers. "this is masterpiece, seungwan."
"i'm glad." her hands clasp onto one another, showing her utmost excitement.
there is miracle in her happiness, with joy it is uplifting. at her side, cake tastes richer, coffee is no longer bitter, life is less depressing. seungwan is perhaps his fairy, one who spreads her pixie dust around such world full of negativities.
"i would love to see you bake someday." he beams at her. "if you don't mind, of course."
"definitely, my pleasure." she returns her hearty smile.
after enjoy their little feast, both get up to seungwan's room. silence crashes down along the way, their hearts pound upon each step taken, breaths held in, the only noise being heard is the sound of door opening then closing.
