Chapter 27: Popcorn

Sevs POV: 

I knew something was wrong when Mia didn’t turn up for DADA in the morning, “Have you seen Mia?” I asked Lilly.

“No, I haven’t…. Was she at breakfast?” She asked me as she glanced around the room, expecting Mia to jump out of the closet. 

“I don’t know.”

 ✳✳✳

When Mia walked in the great hall for dinner I knew that she felt awkward, I knew people were talking about her and when they were sure she couldn’t see them they would stare. And I knew that she knew as well. 

Today, the rumour that she had waking dreams spread around the school like wildfire. I sware, I had been told around fifteen times!

Her eyes seemed as though she was trying to look at something invisible. She did that a lot when she was feeling uncomfortable….How did I know that?

 I motioned for her to sit next to me and a few of my other friends, but she didn’t seem to notice and sat near the end of the table. She sat there not really doing anything, just siting there and staring into space.  She suddenly stood up and ran out of the hall. 

I turned back to the others, about to make up an excuse to leave the hall, but was interrupted by Mulcilber “ I don’t know why they’re still letting her stay in the school.” he said as he stabbed his fork into a piece of beef. “She could kill us.”

“She wouldn’t” I replied sharply.

“It’s a fact Snape, no one with waking dreams is safe to be around.”

 “Whatever.” I replied in a monotone.

My mind began to wonder, as usual I began thinking about creating a potion.

If I added a bit of that root, what about some powdered snake fang…. Brew….. Should be a pinkie colour…. Caramel…. On some food…. She likes popcorn…..

I suddenly jerked up in my seat. 

“What is it mate?” asked Mulcilber

“I’ve got to go.” I said turning away from the table.

“Why?” Asked Mulcilber with a raised eyebrow. 

“Potion” I replied before quickly walking out of the room.

Where the hell was Mia?  I had been wondering around the castle for ages now and I still hadn’t found Mia. It had been around two hours of searching until she literally walked into me.

“There you are Mia, I saw you run from dinner, what happened?”  I asked brushing myself off.

“Felt sick, now I’m on the run from Filtch,” She replied shrugging.

“Why would you be—Oh, huh…” I began to ask but then I realised that she had to run out because she had to throw up. Slightly gross.

Mia began to walk away, She always did that is a awkward situation, Dammit am I being awkward!?

“Mia? I called out, I had to give her the popcorn. 

“What?” she sighed as she turned around.

“Is it true? What they’re saying is it true?”  It would be so weird if I gave her what I hoped to be the cure and it turned out it was just a horrible rumour.

“Humour me, what are they saying?” She replied replied sharply. Shesh, she was death staring me, damn it was scary when she did that.

‘They’re saying your having waking dreams.”

 “Would it matter if I was?” She asked turning around again to walk away,

“ Why would it?” I said quietly.

 “Because I’m dangerous.” She whispered, hardly audible.

 “Your only dangerous when your hungry. If Madam Pompfrey cant do anything for you, try eating this before you go to sleep.”  I said, and then threw the bag of ‘popcorn’ at her and because I’m that good, it hit her on the head.

 She picked it up for closer inspection, she looked puzzled, I guess that’s understandable.

“What are you playing at Sev?”

“If you give up hop try eating some of them okay?”

“Fine.” She replied and walked away.

 I resisted the erg to do that heeltap jump thing they do in the movies. She took it! I Just hope it works. I had laced the popcorn with a potion, that will hopefully stop her from having waking dreams.

Hopefully It wont poison her…. That only happened once…. He was okay though….
