Sarah POV:

A few days later, Dean and his sister Dana flew back to Tennessee. I was honestly surprised that he hadn't gone to his boss and told him everything but he didn't. I still didn't trust him, though.

I had told him to bring his sister into the clinic for a check up when they got back.

When I saw her, I was flabbergasted. She was just a little girl.

"Does anything hurt?" I asked Dana as I checked the bruising on her face and body. "My ribs." She replied. "Pull your shirt up for me." I told her.

She did as she was told and I gently pushed her back on the bed. Her sides were covered in cuts and bruises. When I put light pressure on her left side, she winced in pain.

"You have a couple broken ribs on this side." I told her and moved to the other.

There wasn't as much pain on her right side so it was safe to say none of the ribs on that side were broken.

I took off my gloves and threw them in the trash can.

"You're gonna be fine. Just take it easy for a while." I told her and handed her a bottle of pain killers. "Thank you, doctor." She said timidly. "You're very welcome." I replied.

"Sweetheart, how old are you?" I asked her. "Six." She replied.

I turned to Dean who was watching her closely.

How could these men do this to a little girl? Fucking cowards.

"Dean, a word?" I asked. "Yeah." He replied.

"Six, Dean? Why the hell were you a part of this group?" I asked him. "They have never used a kid as leverage before. I never expected it. I didn't know they were capable of this. I didn't even know they had been beating her." He replied. "How did you explain this to the people at the air port?" I asked. "I didn't. She did. She told us our father did it. I explained that he had already been taken to the police and then we took off." He said.

I could see the worry in his eyes for his little sister.

"Our father had an affair with a married woman.  A much younger woman, who had no interest in being a mother. I was fifteen when he brought Dana home. He didn't want her so I took care of her and became her legal guardian when I turned eighteen." Dean told me. "She's safe here, Dean." I told him. "I know she is. I'll never be able to thank you enough." He replied.

Just then, Lana walked into the clinic.

"Hey sissy." I said.

"Whoa, you're a twin?" He asked and laughed. "I am. This is my sister, Lana. Lana, this is Dean Crawford." I told said. "Oh, yeah. I heard about you from Ryder." She said.

She then turned to me. "Ready for lunch?" She asked. "I have a patient right now. Let me finish up." I said and went to check on Dana.

"Hey, sweetheart. I want you to take it easy okay? It's gonna be a rough couple of weeks." I told her. "Okay." She replied. "You ready to go, baby girl?" Dean asked and helped her off the bed. "I'm ready." She said.

"Dean, you should go talk to my father. This changes a lot, you understand?" I asked. "Yes, doctor. Thank you again." He replied.

Kade POV:

"Boss, we have company." Ryder said as he walked into the living room.

Dean and a little girl covered in bruises walked in. Holy shit. Poor thing.

"Dean?" Samuel asked then looked at the little girl.

His face turned into shock before it softened and he bent down to he level causing her to hide behind Dean.

"Hey, darlin'. What's your name?" Sam asked. "Dana." She said quietly.

What the fuck?

"You're Dana?" I asked her. "Yes." She replied.

Dear God. I never expected Dean's sister to be a little girl.

Samuel pulled Dean into his office while Ryder and I tended to the little girl.

Ryder went to the kitchen to get her an ice pack and gently placed it on her cheek.

"There you go, baby. That should make you feel a little better, okay?" He said, softly. "Thank you." She replied, timidly.

"Are you hungry, sweetheart?" I asked. "A little." She replied. "I'll be right back, okay." I told her and hurried to the kitchen.

I fixed Dana a sandwich and took it back to her with a glass of water.

"There you go." I said and sat it in front of her.

The poor girl was shaking like a leaf. She was terrified.

"You don't have to be afraid of us, okay? We're here to keep you safe." Ryder told her. She only nodded and began to eat.

"Kade, Ryder, my office, please." Samuel said, leading us to his office.

"She's just a little girl." I said, still in disbelief. "Boss, we have to help them." Ryder told him. "I know. That's exactly what we're going to do. I'm giving Dean Lana's old room and Dana, Sarah's." Samuel replied.

"How could someone hurt an innocent girl like that?" I asked.

I was so disgusted. It made me sick to see the girl beat up like that.

"I told Dean that I want Dana to have regular check ups with Sarah and I'm going to talk to Lana about therapy for the girl." Samuel told us.

"So they're staying, then?" Ryder asked. "Yeah, for now at least. Dean said it would be temporary until he found a job." Samuel told us.

These people had been through hell and high water. We couldn't do anything to the MCs in California because it was their home turf. It would be a suicide mission, but if they came here.. Well, that's a different story.
