Change of Perspective (TodoBaku)

Chapter Nine

Katsuki's POV:

We're currently getting groceries at the store and Todoroki starts talking after a bit of silence. "The lady was nice. She wasn't scary or anything like that. Also I didn't tell her anything about you. Like your thoughts and stuff," he says. I nod and say, "Oh so what did you tell her about?"

He's about to answer, but I cut him off. "Wait, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to. Hey what kind of ice cream do you want?" I throw in a question about ice cream so that if he doesn't want to answer the first one, he can easily dismiss it by answering the end question which is about the ice cream. I don't want him to feel like he has to tell me everything just because he's in my body. I know what it's like and how hard it is to be in my body with my thoughts.

"I want mint chocolate chip. Also, I do want to answer the other question," he says as we get to the frozen food section. He grabs a bag of dino nuggets and I go to get the ice cream. When we get back to each other, he starts talking again. "So it wasn't anything too personal. I told her that me and you were switched. She asked me why we switched and how I was taking all of your stuff and I told her the truth. I didn't tell her what I did or what I wanted to do, I just told her I was not taking it great. Hm, let's see what else? Oh, she asked me about my personal life and how I like my life. I told her that my siblings were like my parents and that we all get along. She asked me more stuff about the quirk. Oh, I also told her that I was still going to be your friend when we switch back and yeah, I think that's it. Of course we talked more than I just did, but that's pretty much it. I didn't tell her anything that she didn't know already."

I smile a bit when he tells me that he told the shrink that he would still be friends with me after. It feels good knowing that. "Thank you for not telling her. I don't know how I'd take it when we switched back and that information was just out there without my doing you know?" He nods, understanding since he's in my body. "Okay so what's for dinner? What did you want to make?" He just shrugs. "I don't know. Spaghetti?" I nod and start walking to the canned food section. I get the spaghetti sauce and the noodles for the spaghetti and put them in the cart. We had already gotten quite a bit of groceries so we were good to go. I got the mint chocolate chip ice cream for IcyHot and I chose cherry vanilla. There's not too many groceries because we still have to walk home.

We pay and start heading out. Even though it's still kind of cold, the ice cream sounded like the best idea ever. It's not like we'll get sick from eating ice cream inside with blankets and heating so what's the harm? We walk together in silence. I know how anxious the quiet makes me, so I guess Todoroki might be anxious. "So, do I get to keep all of your stuffed animals from the carnival?"

He shoots a glare at me. "No fucking way," he says, one hundred percent serious. I laugh. I decide maybe we should have some fun. Since I decided to take three bags, Todoroki was only carrying one so one of his hands was free. I switch the two bags on my right, to my left with the other bag. So now my left hand is free. I see that IcyHot's right hand is free. He sees me looking at him and he gives me a questioning look. I smile and grab his right hand and start running. He runs along with me and I let go once we're side by side. "Last one to my house has to wash dishes," I say.

I hear him let out an amused breath and we start trying to outrun each other. I swear I almost fucking beat him, but at the last second, he full-on sprinted. I groaned and as I was catching up, we got to the front of my house laughing harshly as quick breaths left our mouths. We could see the hot air leaving our mouths as we stood on my front porch, laughing. "I clearly won," Todoroki said in between breaths.

I groan and roll my eyes. "Yeah yeah, whatever, let's just go inside," I grumble out. "I thought I had it in the bag," I say. He laughs and goes to put the ice cream in the freezer. "Yeah, well you clearly didn't," he says back. I sigh heavily and start putting the water to boil. "Whatever, I'll beat you when I'm back in my body," I say. He turns around and I look at him. He smiles and I just smile back before going to put the meat to cook.
