Todoroki's POV:
Bakugo also wanted us to stay as they took the pictures. He told me he was okay with us seeing the bruises and that he trusted us. He keeps saying it. He's said it about 7 times just today.
The police are taking the last few pictures and Bakugo hasn't cried. Not once since they came in. It's been about forty-five. He's trying his best to stay calm, I can tell. Every time they ask him if he can move, he gets this look in his eye and just nods before doing what they say. He hadn't talked at all either. He just moves on command. No hums of acknowledgement or grunts of annoyance. He needs a break, but he seems to want to get it over with.
The officer snaps a picture of his chest once more and then stands up straight. He looks nervous and excited. "You're all done kid. Thanks for cooperating so well," he praises Bakugo. Bakugo lowers his hospital gown and nods absentmindedly. He looks like he's about to break. He's holding it in because of the officer.
The other officer starts pulling the officer with the camera immediately out of the room.
"You're really cool kid. I saw you in the sport's festival and you were amazing. I loved it. I'm a real fan and my kid makes me get him everything he sees you wear. I can't wait to see what you do when you become a pro," he practically gushes as he's pulled out of the room.
Bakugo just looks at him with this look of hope in his eye and I feel myself tear up. "I hope you heal up well. Show all those assholes who's boss," he tells Bakugo quickly before the other officer closes the door in his face. The room is silent and I look over at Mr. Aizawa and then at Bakugo. There are tears in my eyes and I notice that Aizawa is the same.
"You think he was being honest?" Bakugo suddenly asks, breaking the silence. "Hell yeah," I blurt out. Bakugo's head snaps in my direction. "He wasn't just saying that cause I'm in the hospital because my dad beat me and he feels bad?" He asks, voice so close to breaking. Mr. Aizawa and I take a step closer to him at the same time. "Bakugo he was practically dragged out. He seriously forgot to be professional because of you. It was kind of funny to see him like that. He looked so serious and annoyed before, but maybe he was just trying to keep himself from fangirling. Now that I think about it, he did look focused instead of mad," I think out loud.
"Yeah, I noticed that too. He was probably focusing on doing his job first," Mr. Aizawa half laughs. Bakugo looks over at him. "Really?" He asks excitedly. My heart swells with happiness. "He kept opening his mouth in between taking pictures like if he wanted to ask me something," he tells us. "I thought I moved when he snapped the picture and he needed me to stay still, but was scared to tell me," he says honestly.
"He's probably talking to the other officers about how he got so close to you," I laugh. He finally smiles and laughs. "Yeah?" He asks. "Yeah," me and Aizawa laugh at the same time.
"You weren't looking at him when he finished, but as soon as he stood up straight, he got a look in his eye and the other officer that was here rolled his eyes and started dragging him out of here to leave us alone," I tell him. He raises his eyebrows. "I've never had an adult look up to me," he breathes out happily. Aizawa scoffs and me and Bakugo look at each other confused before looking at Mr. Aizawa.
"What?" Bakugo asks. "You should hear some of the teachers at UA," he laughs. Bakugo looks confused. "What?" He asks again.
"Some of them talk about you all the time. Talking about how well you use your quirk. Saying how it seems as though you've been using for like 30 years even though you're only 17. They brag about you to teachers that don't really take an interest in you and try to convince them that you're gonna be one of the greatest heros to graduate from the school. They also always come to me for questions about you. Of course, I'm better than them all cause you're my student, but that's not the point. The point is that grown ups do look up to you and talk about you like fangirls. I should record it on my phone. Next time I go into a teacher's lounge that's in a different wing, I'll make sure to take a recording. It's seriously every time I walk in," Aizawa tells Bakugo seriously.
