It was a warm summer evening, the sunset was setting, the waves crashing. Mark was just playing around in the water, with his baby squishy hands and feet.

Mark spotted a washed-up merman, it was a little boy around his age. Doing the right thing, the 8-year old dragged the little one into the water. He admired its beauty, squishy baby fat, and his adorable features.

The merman eventually woke up. It got shy, and he hid under the water, only his eyes were above the water. The little one was blowing bubbles, making Mark giggle.

"Mark~ It's time to go home," His mother called out from afar.

Mark waved bye to the little one, as the little one tilted it's head in confusion, making Mark smile.

"Mommy! I saw a merman today! It was a little baby," Mark said, as he walked with his mother in his soaked clothing.

"Honey... there are no such things as mermen... only sirens..." His mother spoke, in a shock expression.

"Did they do anything to you? Are you hurt?" his mother checked.

"No, I was saving it from drying up ashore," Mark said.

"Honey, sirens can breathe in both air and water," His mother said.

"If you see a siren, don't go to it," his mother said, with her tone changed.

Mark got a bit nervous, but he nodded.

But, the boy didn't listen. He would secretly go to the shore, only to find the little merman, blowing bubbles.

It didn't take long to notice a Siren overlooking the baby siren. Mark got scared, patting the little boy's head, before leaving. He didn't know its intentions, but it could be bad.

As the boy grew up, he noticed that he would see the little siren boy wait for him. He would be busy with studies, but every time he would look out of his window from his new house, he would see the little siren, staring at him with joy.

The adult siren that had watched over them before, he learned that he was also harmless, just watching over.

"Haechannie~," Mark called out towards the clear waters.

Haechan, or the little merman he named, popped out of the water.

"Hey buddy," Mark said, ruffling his wet hair.

"r-reading time?" Haechan spoke.

"Mhm," Mark hummed with a small nod.

Mark would teach the boy how to speak and listen. When it had gotten dark, Mark had to leave.

"Haechannie, I had to go, bye Haechannie," Mark said, ruffling the younger's hair.

"Marku~ bai bai," Haechan mumbled causing Mark to grin from ear to ear. His face became red suddenly.

"Honey, what's wrong? Your face is red," his mother said, as he entered his house.

"Oh, nothing," Mark said, smiling.

"Alright, dinner is ready in a few minutes," his mother said.

Mark went to his room and saw the little siren blew his bubbles. But, this time, the Adult siren was saying something to it. Haechan kept blowing his bubbles, he didn't know what was going on, but he didn't get a bad feeling.

"Donghyuck, you can't be here tomorrow, people are after us," the siren said, name Taeil.

"But, I want to see Marku," Donghyuck said.

"The day after tomorrow, okay? I don't want you to be in danger," Taeil said, hugging the boy.

"b-but.." Donghyuck stammered.

"I.. Fine, just a little bit," Taeil said, hoping his decision wasn't a bad one.

Donghyuck was happy, then the two returned to their real home. It was a nearby rocky area, were Sirens hang and live.

Mark, the 19-year old had good grades, barely needing to study. He tends to have more free time and a lot of friends. But, friends would leave him.

Never Haechan. Haechan would wait for him, day by day.

When Haechan was waiting, he saw Mark, popping his head out. He didn't realize hunters were there first, catching the boy in the net.

Mark's eyes widen, he ran over. Mark beat the men into a pulp. Haechan only had rope burns, from trying to get out of the net, but Mark helped the boy out.

"You better get the fuck out of here before I beat you guys into pulp again! You better not step anywhere near here anymore, got it you son of a bitch!" Mark yelled at the hunters, making them run away.

Haechan couldn't understand a thing but, Mark saved his ass.

Mark played in the water a little bit on the shore with Haechan. They were just playing around when Haechan pulled Mark, down into the water with him. Haechan cupped the older's face, pressing his lips against Mark's.

Mark's eyes widen, but he kissed the siren back. They stayed a little bit in the water, making Taeil panic a bit, till Mark got back to the surface for air.

Haechan's head popped out, he shyly blew his bubbles. Mark could see how flustered the little siren was, making him chuckle.

Mark pecked on Haechan's squishy cheeks, making his little Haechan's heart burst. The Siren was blushing heavily, he could even feel his cheeks burning.

"You're so cute, Haechannie," Mark said, suddenly giving the younger face kisses.

Taeil just watched over them, with a big smile on his face. His babies were growing up. The other sirens came to check out what Taeil was smiling about, they stayed on the side, admiring the two couples being all adorable.

After all, the only thing the baby siren was talking about was Mark every single day.

The End~
