Raven's point of view
So San decided to take me to this fancy, out of my tax bracket restaurant. There's things written on this menu I can't even pronounce.
San: You look beautiful.
Me: Thank you, you look handsome. He smiles showing off his precious dimples. The waiter brings our water and two glasses of red wine, oh this is top tier to me.
San: How was your day?
Me: It was okay. Did some last minute assignments, failed some assignments. You know how it is.San and I have never had a real conversation. It's usually flirty banter, arguing or moaning. This is a bit weird seeing him be serious and honestly trying with this date thing.
Me: How's Giselle?
San: She's doing better, she leaves for America Sunday night.
Me: Wow, I hope everything works out for her.
San: Me too.Silence hovers over us. San glances to the table next to us and gasps.
San: Jongho?
Jongho?
I look over and my eyes widen, Angel and Cina's brother. That's who had her head over heels? Aw, they're on a date.
San: Is he not with Saelee anymore?
He's talking more so to himself than me. Then it clicks the ex friend with benefits, holy shit.
Me: Angel told me he's going through a bad breakup due to his ex being in love with someone else.
He cough uncomfortably.
Me: I know it's you, Angel told me.
San: That whole situation was a mess and it's a long story.I sip my wine and lean back.
Me: I got time.
He laughs.
San: You know Kang Yeosang? His sister.
Oh shit!
San: It started off as any friends with benefits, holla when you need me. Then she'd start doing things that friends with benefits don't do. Texting me to make sure I ate that day, baking me things for holidays, asking how my day was.
He smiles softly.
San: I've never had anyone care about me like that before, I didn't know how to react to it. So I didn't, I kept being me.
Uh oh, I know what that means.
San: She loved me, and honestly I loved her.
Me: Did you tell her that?
San: I didn't know how to until it was too late. Not to mention I wasn't good for her, I wasn't ready for a relationship love or not. That's honestly so sad, and I can't help but to blame his mom. Mainly because if you grow up a certain way your views on things tend to be how your parents programmed you to see it, not all the time but more often than not.
Me: I feel bad for all of you honestly. Saelee, Jongho and you.
He shakes his head before chugging the rest of his wine.
San: Jongho and I had a pretty decent conversation and meal about it a few weeks ago.
Me: Really? So no bad blood?
San: No bad blood.I smile.
San: What about you Raven? You're a mystery.
Me: My mom owns a bakery in Busan. Growing up it was just her, Hendery and I.
San: Hendery?
Me: My twin brother.
San: Are you guys close?
Me: Yes, different paths of life though. He didn't want to do the college thing.San cuts a piece of his steak before nodding.
San: Understandable, adults have us programmed to believe after highschool you must go to university which is not always right. Sometimes you need a second to breathe and enjoy life, think about what you want.
I smile, exactly.
San: I envy him.
Me: He's traveling right now, getting to know himself.
San: Your mother must be very supportive.
Me: She is, my father left when we were younger. So that alone made her work a thousand times more harder. I love her.The night continues with funny and lighthearted conversation. San drives me home as promised and walks me to my door.
Me: Well Choi, I had an amazing night.
San: I'm happy to hear that.
Me: So, you wanna' come in?I wink at him and he chuckles. He kisses me making sure to nibble on my bottom lip, then he pulls away just as fast.
San: As much as I want to, I don't want to ruin this.
Me: Huh?
San: I like you Raven.I blink.
San: Let's take it slow for a while, yeah?
My right eye twitches.
