Raven's point of view

San invited me to watch a movie at his house today and I accepted. I'm laying on his chest about to lose my fucking mind.

Me: San?
San: Yes?
Me: Can you just stick the tip in?

He giggles before shaking his head.

San: No sex. I want to get to know you without all the mental complications from that. Sex tends to block your judgement.

I feel like Spongebob when he desperately needed water but tried to convince himself he didn't. San rubs my back and I feel my whole body heat up. I sit up and he raises an eyebrow.

Me: What are we?
San: Well, we're dating.
Me: Dating.
San: Yes, as in two people hanging out and getting to know each other.
Me: So not boyfriend and girlfriend?
San: Not yet. We're still moving slow, I don't want to rush things.

Interesting.

Giselle's point of view

My eyes take in the mansion I haven't seen in years. I convinced myself I was strong enough to do this but honestly, I don't think so. I go to walk away and Wooyoung stops me.

Wooyoung: This will be hard but it's part of your road to recovery, healing.

He interlaces our fingers and I smile.

Me: Thanks for being here.
Wooyoung: You're welcome. I didn't tell San because I knew he'd worry.
Me: You're a good friend to him you know that?
Wooyoung: I try.

I ring the doorbell and wait. The sound of heels clicking together makes my anxiety rush. The devil in prada opens the door. When she sees me her face drops but when she sees Wooyoung she smiles.

Mom: Wooyoung, Giselle. What a nice surprise.

Liar.

Wooyoung: Mrs.Choi, can we come in?
Mom: Of course.

She's going to put up a front like the world's best mother in front of him, but he knows what she's really like. My dad sits there drinking his tea while reading a newspaper, same old dad. Once he sees me he immediately scrambles to his feet to hug me.

Dad: Daughter, have you been well? You look so tired!

God I miss my dad. Growing up he did a good job, sure he could've worked less and been around more but he wasn't nearly as terrible as my mom.

Me: I'm fine.
Mom: Where's San?
Me: He's busy.

She hums.

Mom: Would you two care for anything to drink?
Wooyoung: Water would be nice.

She nods before asking one of the maids to go get it. She sits on the couch with my dad across from Woo and I.

I could never stand this victorian themed living room, it was always so cliche to me. The silence is the room is heavy, and I can see my mom trying to piece together why the hell I'm here.

Me: Well, I'm here to say my partings.
Dad: Partings? Where are you going?
Me: America.

My mother scoffs.

Mom: Why are you going there?
Me: Well, it's a center there I need to go to.
Dad: Center? I don't understand.

Wooyoung squeezes my hand reassuringly.

Me: I've had an um, drinking problem for a while now.
Mom: What's a while?
Me: Since I was sixteen.

Her eyes widen, I don't know why the hell she's acting surprise? I remember when I was half way passed out she literally stepped over me and the half empty bottle of jack daniels. I was seventeen at that time though.

Bitch you knew.

Dad: Giselle..
Me: I don't want to go into details but I'll be gone for three months.
Dad: Do you have traveling money? Do you need any help?
Mom: She can surely deal without our money, look how far she came. Right Giselle?

I hum.

Dad: If my daughter is moving across the globe for a little bit I want to make sure she's okay.

My mom narrows her eyes.

Me: Honestly dad it's okay.
Mom: See? She's always been too good for our money.

Blinking is like a switch, and it switched.

Me: That's not even close to the truth. I've never asked for any of your money because I'd be damned if you held it over my head.
Mom: Excuse me?

Wooyoung mumbles "shit" under his breath.

Me: What have you been telling my dad, hm? What have you been telling him about my life? Have you told him about me working at a cafe because I can't afford college, or me living in a raggedy apartment. Or the fact I almost got evicted but Wooyoung helped me.

My dad looks mortified while my mom looks stupid.

Dad: I thought you said she joined the college San goes to but we wouldn't need to pay her tuition because of her paid intern job?

She's a compulsive liar and my dad is naive. He would be so busy working he'd believe any lie my mom spewed out.

Me: She's a liar she always been a liar.
Mom: You will not disrespect me in my house!

She stands to her feet and so do I.

Me: This isn't your fucking house! This is dads house and dads money! You haven't worked a day in your life. How you decide to claim accomplishments that aren't yours is beyond me. But I'll tell you what you miserable bitch, you'll never make me feel less of myself again!

She goes to slap me but Wooyoung catches her wrist. Deciding I was done with my "parting" I walked out the house. Wooyoung runs after me.

Wooyoung: Are you okay?
Me: I feel, fantastic!

We both laugh before pulling each other into a hug.
