Sweet
10 minutes past by and I never said a single word to the new girl that sat beside me.
Everyone was talking to each other and we sat awkwardly.
I wanted to talk, I really did but I couldn't bring myself too.
So instead, I pull out a sticky note and begin to write down what I wanted to say.
'Hi. My name is Isabella, Issy for short... I'm quite nervous to talk first so I'm sorry if this is awkward.'
Taking a deep breath, I slid the note over to the new girl as I purposely clear my throat.
It grabbed her attention and she glanced at me before taking the sticky note.
I could see her smile in the corner of my eyes as she turns around to me.
"Hi... I'm Candace."
Her voice was sweet and smooth, just like honey.
I returned back the smile as I whisper a small "Hi."
"I was kinda worried that I made you uncomfortable or something." She chuckled as she rubbed her lap.
It was obvious that she was nervous. I don't blame her really.
"Oh no! Not at all... It's just that..." I slowly began to chew on my bottom lip as I tried speaking but I struggled, I wasn't used to socialising.
"I understand." She nods her head. "I hope I can change that and that we'll be good friends."
Weird. I've never met anyone as sweet as her.
I smiled back and class soon started.
