Short names
Throughout the class, me and Candace somehow got closer and clicked.
She even asked me to sit with her at lunch.
I was going to refuse but she was so keen to get me to sit with her that I couldn't help but accept.
Hopefully it was just me and her. I was too awkward to make any other friends today.
It was already 4th period, one class just before lunch.
"Alright guys. I know you're not going to like this but I've assigned seats-"
The whole class was immediately filled with students groaning and complaining. I on the other hand was dying on the inside.
Meanwhile people got seated, some were lucky to sit with their friends or with someone they were okay with.
It was now only me, the boy so called Brandon, a boy called Jake and two girls which I'm assuming were close friends.
Great, theres a small chance I could be seated myself.
"Jake and Brandon."
"Yes!" Brandon exclaimed whilst pulling his friend into a bro hug.
"Actually, Jake you sit with Chelsea and Brandon you sit by yourself."
"Aw come on Miss, it was a joke! I promise I'll behave."
Troublemaker.
"No, now sit down before I send you out Mr. Gray."
He was clearly the class clown.
At least I don't have to sit with one of the boys, and that Chelsea girl kinda seems mean. Not that I'm trying to judge her but in all honesty, she was probably judging me.
"Anyways, Isabella and Ariadne, you girls can sit at the table over there."
We both nod and walk together over to the table that was second last. Good, we're at the back.
As the teacher started the lesson, Ariadne leaned towards me.
"Hey. I'm Ariadne, nice to meet you." She whispered as she reached her hand out to shake, keeping her gaze focused to the front.
I looked at her before hesitantly shaking her hand. "Hi, I'm Issy."
"Isabella your full name?"
"Mhm." I nod my head.
"Well since we're using short names, call me Ari."
"Alright... Ari."
My third ever friend.
Maybe this year was going to be good after all.
