" Get up we're going to be late "
My mom said in a calm but worried tone. I could tell she was scared for what I would choose and I was sure I would choose them because I knew what he would do if I didn't. She helped me cover the bruise on my cheek but we couldn't hide the small cut on my lip very well. I watched as my friends chose home and strangers came then my name was called and I walked down the many steps. I looked at my mom and after the blood started to flow from my hand she nodded and I found my hand over the bowl for Dauntless. The red liquid sizzle as it hit the hot coals I wrapped my hand and went to my new home I looked over and my father had his hand tightly around my mom's wrist she gave me a small smile almost to say it was ok. Finally, it was over. The new members followed the Dauntless born and we started to run and then climbed the post for the train track then the train came and we had to jump on. When we were finally in the cars us new ones catching there breath I looked around and realized I was the only one from Amity but it didn't bother me. We watched as the tops of building passed then people started to jump off and without thinking I jumped and landed on the roof safely we all walked over to an older guy with black hair and a small beard who said
" welcome initiates this is your first test "
We all moved in a little closer and saw the big hole in the roof and he continued

I said and people gave me strange looks and I made my way to the edge took a deep breath and stepped off. As I fell through the air I felt the ties brake and I was free almost that was till I hit the net. People cheered and I made my way to the edge and a guy pulled down the side so I could get down and his warm smile was strange on his pale skin and died red hair
" what's your name chose wisely "
He said with a little smile

I said smiling slightly because that's the name I would have gotten if I was a boy my mom says instead I was named Anna I always thought Carter was better

I got down and watched the others jump and scream that's when I realized I didn't make a sound as I fell

A guy said that I think is called Four because someone said hi to him. He showed us to the pit then to some other important rooms then finally to where we would be staying.

He said and left us. We all kinda separate into girls on one side and boys on the other and we all got changed into all black clothing I went to the bathroom. I rubbed my eyes and smeared the makeup so I washed it off it was red and purple on my cheekbone but it was fading. When I walked out Four came back and said
" who's hungry "
We all started to walk and he said
" grab your old clothes "
We did and on our way to the cafeteria, we put them in a fire. We were starting to eat when someone said
" Congratulations to the people who join us today we will not take it easy on you tomorrow we start but tonight we celebrate "
Cheers erupted and we all talked and got to know each other a girl next to me said
" Hi I'm Tess I was in Candor "
" Caret I'm from Amity "
The boy across from us huff
" Amity and you came here "

She said and I said

He said and finally, I got his name

We talked and they didn't ask about the mark on my face I guess it a good thing I went first I could have hit myself.
