I woke up and got ready and he was still asleep so I wrote a note like we do all the time
' don't kill them all today k have a good day and don't expect them to be perfect right away

The day was long because it's was really hot and I just wanted to spend the day in bed with Eric. Finally, we got to switch and we went back to the cafeteria was filled with all the iniats. Me, Seth and Lilith got our food and found a place to eat because they were all pretty spread out. There were three guys sitting across from us and they were transfers
" where you from "
One with light blond hair said
" what "
Lilith said
" Lil calm down "
Seth put his hand on hers and said
" do you just want to go to bed "
She was almost done anyways she looked at me and said
" I hate this time of year "
They got up and left me
" what's her problem "
A guy with long black hair said
" you dint get it do you she's Dauntless born and she doesn't like an outsider coming in and acting like they know everything "
She's talked about this so many times before and the guy with the blond hair said
" were you Dauntless born "
" no far from Dauntless born but I did what I needed to and if you act this way you won't make it past the first cut "
They got up and I was alone at the table and the room was losing people so I decided it was time to go to my apartment and leave all the kids to play with there plastic knives. I opened the door and the lights were off
" Eric "
The lights turned on and people yelled
" surprise "
Lilith, Seth, Four, and a few other people but most importantly Eric were there. He walked over and snaked his arm around my waist and kissed my cheek. We all talked and drank a little for about an hour then people started to leave one by one till it was just me and him. I draped my arms over his shoulders
" thank you "
" of course "
" This was the first time in a long time that I was actually happy it was my birthday "
" well let me add to that "
He kissed me and laughed as he pulled us both onto the bed.

When I woke up I thought about the events of the night and smiled. I started to trace the tattoo on his arm and mindlessly started to hum. He slowly woke up and smiled
" don't you have some kids to go scared "
He looked at me and said
" I guess I have to "
" don't kill anyone remember "
I got up and got ready for my shift. I was starting to zone out when I saw something move I quickly grabbed a pair of binoculars and focused on a bush that was slowly moving. I shot it because I didn't know if it was an animal or something but better to be safe then sorry. I and Seth were next to each other and he said
" hey so umm I've been thinking of asking Lilith to marry me "
" no way "
" yeah we've been together for three years now and well we're both 20 "
" yeah just go for it "
" But I don't know when "
" and you want me to talk to her and get some information "
He smiled
" where did you first meet "

" first kiss "
" The cafeteria "
" do it there one night after our shift is done "
He wouldn't stop talking about her the rest of the time and he decided he would do it at the end of the first trial because that's the day they kissed.
We all ate our food without talking and went to our rooms earlier than normal. I found a note that said

I laughed and quickly got changed and ran to the training room. I was hiding in a dark doorway and watched as he tried not to go off on them. His group was working on knife throwing and they were all doing a horrible job. He was tapping the tip of the knife to his head and said
" How fucking hard is it to throw it properly "
I let out a little laugh and he looked up and I stepped out fo the shadow and he said
" just show them "
I healed in my laugh as I walked over to them and watched and saw what they needed to do
" you need to hold here lightly some of you are holding it like it's a knife you're using to kill your sibling then move your arm like this and "
I threw it and got it in the head in the center. I looked at Eric and they all hit the targets
" just go to fucking bed "
He said clearly at the end of his rope and they all left. When the room was empty I said
" thank god I knew how to throw before I came here "
" what's that supposed to mean "
" I think you would have killed me "
" oh yeah "
He started to tickle me and he was laughing with me and finally, he stopped
" ok let's get this all put away and go to bed "
We quickly put things away and went back to our apartment passing out as soon as we got in bed.
