Chapter 14

*****ARIELLA'S POV*****

I checked myself out in the mirror. Ew...

I don't know why I was worried about how I looked. I was hired to paint a mural for the community center.

I put my hoodie with paint blotches on and tied up my hair into the messiest of buns.

"I will be back soon Artie," I grabbed my keys by the front door. She had her big headphones in so she couldn't hear me.

"Hey!" I waved my arms. Still nothing. I pulled off the plush keychain attached to my keys and threw it at her.

"Ow," She rubbed the side of her head, "What?"

I motioned for her to pull off the head phones. She got the memo.

"I will be gone for awhile, but I will pick up dinner. Do you want anything specific?" I asked.

"Um... how about pizza- ooo! Can you get it from Sbarro?" She sat up.

"But that would require me to drive to the food court-"

"Pleeeeease?" She gave me puppy dog eyes.

"Ugh fine." I smiled.

"You are the cooliest." She had a big grin.

"Stop saying that," I sang as I opened the door, "If you want to be cool, don't say that."

"Haters gonna hate." She laughed.

"See ya." I chuckled as I shut the front door.

I hopped into my car and made my way down to the community center and walked down the hallway near the library. There I saw the owner who greeted me with a very welcoming expression.

"Are you Ariella?" She asked.

"Yes that's me." I smiled and shook her hand gently, "Nice to meet you."

"Likewise. Alright, so we have your paint and supplies in that cart, and when you finish, just come ask the receptionist to come get me from my office." She smiled.

"Ok great, thank you so much for this opportunity."

"Oh my pleasure." She then made her way out of the hallway.

"Alright," I slowly rubbed my hands and stared at my giant blank canvas. What and where to paint first....

I grabbed a medium side brush and dipped it into the jet black paint. Once my idea flowed from my mind and on to the wall, I couldn't stop myself. I have always found myself in a certain daze when I paint or draw.

*****DAN'S POV*****

"Are you sure this is the right place?" Phil asked.

"This matches the address she sent me." I said as we leaned to see out the taxi's window. Before us was a small two-storied townhouse.

"Well, lets go." I said. I needed to see her.

Phil and I walked up to the red door and knocked. I was fidgeting my fingers with excitement and nervousness. The door unlocked as my heart beat faster.

"Can I- HOLY CRAP y-your-your"

"Dan and Phil?" I chuckled.

"Yeah..." She stared at us in amazement, "oh um I'm-"

"Artie." Phil answered and smiled at her.

"Would you two like to come in?" She offered.

"Of course," we walked in, "Is Ariella here?"

"No she isn't, but she should be here in awhile. Do you want me to call her-"

"No, uh no, I want her to be surprised." I felt my cheeks get a little warmer.

"Oh... so do you guys want anything to drink?"

"Sure." Phil smiled.

"I'm good." I thanked her.

"Okay, follow me." She gestured Phil to go to the kitchen.

I walked around their living room, looking at all the collages on their walls.

"So why didn't Ari tell me that you guys were coming?" I heard Artie ask.

"Oh, I don't think she knows." Phil said.

"Then what brings you here? Not in a rude way or anything because I think it's soo amazing that you are here and all, but why?"

"I don't know, Dan said something-"

"I was worried about Ariella." I cut into their conversation.

"Worried about what?" Artie asked.

"About Austin."

"That was awhile ago, I'm sure she is over it-"

"Did she not tell you about 2 days ago?"

A very confused Artie placed down her cup on the counter, "No what happened?"

I then proceeded to tell Artie and Phil what had occurred that other night. Artie seemed stunned and began frantically pacing.

"Why didn't she tell me? She totally lied to me. She said she dropped a glass full of water and sliced her hand that way. She should have called me or-"

"Artie, it's okay," Phil placed his hand gently on her to calm her down. It worked. She sat down and took a breath.

"Okay, I need to stop overreacting, I will discuss it with her another time, so let's just let her be happy while you guys are here." She looked toward the TV, "Oh how rude of me, let me turn this off."

She grabbed the remote when Phil actually interpreted what was on the screen.

"Is that skyrim?" He eyes lit up.

"Yes, I love it so much!" She grinned.

"It's the best!" Phil exclaimed.

"Wanna play?" She brought out two more remotes for us.

"Yes!" We both answered at the same time.

*****ARIELLA'S POV*****

I backed in the tight spot on the road. My car was filled with the glorious smell of pizza. I pulled down my mirror and looked at my dreadful appearance. There was paint all over me; it was on my hair, shirt, and face. Oh well, I get to go home and slob it up with the yummy dinner I got. I got out of my car and walked to the passenger side to pick up the food. Some pain throbbed in my right hand when I picked up the box.

"Ow" I winced, but I had to tough it out. I closed the door with my hip and worked my way over to the front door. I pressed the doorbell with my elbow.

"Artie! Let me in!"I rang it a couple of times to annoy her, "Come on- I can't get my keys."

"Hello???" I kicked the bottom of the door, "Ugh fine."

She most likely was playing video games. I set the pizza box on the floor along with my purse and continued to search for my keys.

"Need something?" I heard. I looked up expecting to see Artie.

"DAN!" I jumped into his arms and held on tight.
