Chapter 30
****ARIELLA'S POV*****
My eyes fluttered awake. Today is the big day! I was going to get up when I realized there was an arm around my waist trapping me in a warm hug. With a grin, I turned toward my sleepy boyfriend.
"Dan," My face was so close to him that our noses were almost touching.
"Hmm?" He muttered with his eyes closed.
"You have to let me go sweetheart," I giggled at him.
"Not happening," he grinned as he buried his face more into the pillows.
"Do you want me to move in with you today?" I brushed his dark curly hair off of his eyes. He nodded his head like a child. And just like that, he let go.
"Wait, one more thing love," he mumbled as I was getting up.
"Yes Dan-"
He pulled me back down and gave me a simple but sweet kiss. His warm lips made a feeling of happiness fill my heart as it did every time he was ever around me.
"Good morning," The corner of his eyes crinkled as he gave me a big, dorky grin.
*****
I walked down the stairs and examined the empty room, everything seem so bare. It brought a mixture of feelings to my mind. I was ecstatic to leave Cali to go to London and start my new life with my best friends, but then it's like my old life was vanishing. Everything hit me so fast- I'm growing up. I'm becoming an adult. I'm moving to a new country away from family, I'm in a serious relationship with a wonderful guy, I have to find a new career path, who knows what my future will bring to me...
A clink in the kitchen snapped me out of my daze. I turned the corner to see Artie sitting at the breakfast bar, sipping a steaming cup of coffee. Her shoulders moved up and down more dramatically than normal. Small sniffles escaped from her. I have seen Artie like this many times, but I wasn't sure why this was happening now.
"Artie, are you okay?"
She jumped in her seat and turned the stool away from me.
"Oh you scared me," She tried to be as casual as she could while quickly wiping the tears from her water line, "I'm fine."
"I can tell when you are lying to me Artie, what's going on?" I sat down on the stool adjacent to her.
"I don't know if I'm ready Ari," She looked down at her hands.
"Is that what this is all about? Don't worry, I was nervous too. I mean, we are moving across the country for goodness sake-"
"I'm not talking about moving," Artie looked up a me.
"Oh," I looked at her with confusion, "what's wrong hun?"
She shook her head, as if trying to compile what she wanted to say in her head.
"It's this," She held up her ring, "I love Phil to death, I really do, but I don't know if I'm ready to be married. I mean, it's only been 7 months and we are already engaged. Doesn't this seem to be going pretty fast for a new relationship? I don't know what to think anymore."
"Hey hey hey, I hate seeing you like this. Hear me out, yes, your relationship may be going faster than typical relationships but the bond that you and Phil share definitely is not typical, it's so special. You two clicked so fast, like you were his missing puzzle piece. He loves you so much and I know you love him. I have seen so many shitty guys come into your life that have treated you like crap, but I know that Phil will never hurt you. And just because you are engaged does not mean that you have to get married tomorrow, you can wait as long as you want. I talked to Phil after he proposed and he said that he did that to prove to you his dedication, that he knows that you are the one and only person he wants to share his life with- other than his millions of fans of course."
