3rd pov

"This way, Trav," Said Cooper, leading Travis while he was blindfolded.

"This is scary, why can't I see?"

"Shh don't worry, we're almost there."

It had been approximately two weeks since Cooper and Travis started talking again. Those two weeks had been mainly spent with each other.

Cooper had been planning their date for rougly a week now, and it was finally the day for it to happen.

Slowly but surely, Cooper led the other to a thin blanket lied on the ground with a basket sitting on it. Essentially, a picnic was set up overtop a small hill looking over one of the Californian fields.

Cooper grabbed both of Travis' hands before leading him to sit down on the blanket. Cooper then sat himself down before preparing to take off the blindfold.

"Are you ready?"

"Mhmm."

Cooper slowly removed the blindfold from Travis' face before folding it up and setting it by the basket. At first it took Travis a second to get adjusted to the light, but once he did he was absolutely delighted with what he saw.

"A picnic? I haven't been on one of these since I was a kid!" He exclaimed very happily.

He tightly hugged Cooper for a moment, only letting go to continue looking out into the field.

"Do you like it?"

"Absolutely."

The two went about their picnic as most did. Seemingly, they both had a wonderful time.

The only real downside was Travis getting bit in the knee by an ant, but it happens.

As the sun was preparing to set, the two lied down on the blanket and stared up at the sky. They watched as the light blues turned into a beautiful array of pinks and purples.

They watched as the sun left and the moon entered. They watched the stars begin to shine once more above them. They even watched fireflies carefully fly above and around them.

"Hey, Travis?"

"Hm?"

"I love you," Cooper said, finally taking his eyes off the beautiful scene above him, and setting them on the beautiful scene next to him.

"I love you too!"

At this point they were both turned sideways, staring at each other. Cooper couldn't help but inch himself closer to the boy next to him. As their closeness increased further, Cooper began to speak again.

"Hey, Trav?"

"Yeah?"

"I really love you."

"I really lo-"

And then he did it. After all they had been through, the love and the pain, he finally did it. He kissed Travis.

Everything they had been through went into that kiss. Every good and bad moment was pouring out between their lips. A perfect mix of bliss and envy being formed within them. There was finally a balance, the balance they needed.

For just a moment, all was forgotten. Nothing bad had ever happened. In that moment, they both only knew good in the world.

"I um, I really love you too, Coopie," Travis managed to spit out, after finally breaking the kiss.

"Will you be mine?"

"What?"

"You heard me."

"Of course."

Silence grew over them once more. A comfortable, sweet silence. The one you would never pass up. As the night grew cold and dark, they stayed staring up at the sky, both thinking similar things.

Finally, all was truly forgiven and forgotten. It was finally, genuinely, okay.
