Crimson Palace

Goodwin and Leo enter the temple grounds.

Goodwin: You have done well, Tiger.

Leo: Thank you, Master.

Leo smirks as he uses his tail to push Goodwin and make him stumble.

Goodwin: The mark of a true warrior is humility, but you have definitely done well. (punching Leo in the side).

They both laugh until they hear the sound of wings flapping. They frown and turn, widening their eyes when they see Crow flying weakly and holding the rest of the 5Ds. He crash-lands, dropping the others onto the ground.

Leo: No!

Leo goes to check if they are all right.

Leo: Are they dead? (thankful) No, they're breathing.

Crow: We were no match for his nerve attack.

Goodwin: He's gotten stronger.

Goodwin hits a few points on Jack, allowing him to move again.

Leo: Stronger?

Goodwin then hits a few points on Yusei. Unfortunately, Yusei makes a sudden punch and hits Leo on the chin.

Yusei: He was so fast! Sorry Leo.

But Leo doesn't hear him as he stares at Luna. He walks past Goodwin as he moves Akiza about. He kneels down and doesn't say anything. Goodwin walks over and hits her a few times.

Luna: (gasping for breath weakly) I thought we could stop him.

Leo: (helping Luna onto her feet) He could have killed you.

Jack: Why didn't he?

Goodwin: So you could come back and strike fear into our hearts. But it won't work.

Leo: (as Luna leans against him) No, it won't.

Goodwin: You can defeat him, Tiger!

Leo: But how can I if they couldn't?

Goodwin: Because, you will have the one thing that no one else does.

Leo: What?

They all walk silently towards the Hall of Heroes and stop in front of the Moon Pool.

Leo: The Dragon Scroll? (as they all gaze upon the scroll that rests on the ceiling) You really think I'm ready?

Goodwin: (smiling) You are, Leo.

Goodwin then walks over to Tzolkin's staff, picks it up, and walks to the edge of the Moon Pool. He stays silent for a moment, out of respect. Suddenly, he twirls the staff and makes the sakura petals, which are on the pool, float. He starts twirling the staff and making the petals float higher and higher. Then, a single petal touches the capsule that contains the scroll and manages to make it fall. When it gets close enough, Goodwin thrusts Tzolkin's staff forward and catches the scroll. It only just touches the pool, making a single ripple. He turns around and presents it to Leo.

Goodwin: Behold, the Dragon Scroll. It is yours.

Leo: What happens when I read it?

Goodwin: Legends say you will be able to hear a butterfly's wing beat.

Leo: Really?

Goodwin: Yes, and see light in the deepest of caves. You will feel the universe in motion around you.

Leo: (with wide eyes) Whoa.

Goodwin: Read it Leo, and fulfill your destiny. Read it and become the Dragon Warrior.

Nodding, Leo looks at the capsule and takes in its details. It is a red tube with a gold dragon design on it, and it has green ends as well. He takes a deep breath and opens it. He stops for a moment before taking the scroll out. It has a similar design to the capsule. Everybody holds their breath as Leo opens it and they could see his eyes widen.

Leo: (whispering) I don't believe it.

Goodwin: What?

Leo: (showing the scroll) It's...blank.

Goodwin: No! (turning away) I am forbidden to look upon... (stops and then snatches the scroll away from Leo)

He looks at it from every angle but it does not change. It only shows a gold sheet that holds a hazy reflection.

Goodwin: (whispering) Blank? I don't...I don't understand. Tzolkin was wiser than us all, but this doesn't make sense.

Leo: (out loud) He did pick me by accident. (sighing) You said that only the Dragon Warrior can read and use the scroll, but I can't.

Akiza: But who will stop Netherton?

Crow: He will destroy everything, and everyone.

Goodwin: No. (giving the scroll back to Leo) Evacuate the valley. You must protect the villagers from Netherton's rage.

Luna: (concerned) What about you Master?

Goodwin: I will fight him.

Leo: (wide-eyed) What?

Goodwin: I will hold him off long enough for everyone to escape.

Leo: But, Goodwin, he'll kill you.

Goodwin: (smiling) Then I will have finally paid for my mistake.

No one says anything.

Goodwin: Listen to me, all of you. It is time for you all to continue your journey without me. I am very proud to have been your Master.

He bows to his students. Everybody, including Leo, bows back in an instant. Goodwin turns around and walks to the Moon Pool as Luna takes Leo's arm, and drags him away.
