Entrance to the Hall of Heroes
Goodwin stands at the top of the steps just waiting. He knows he won't have to wait long because he can already feel Netherton's presence close by. A storm has gathered and there is thunder. The thunder roars and Goodwin closes his eyes before opening them and seeing Netherton in front of him.
Netherton: (bowing) I have come home, Master.
Goodwin: (glaring) This is no longer your home, and I am no longer your master.
Netherton: Oh yes. You have a new favorite. So where is this Leo?
Netherton looks behind Goodwin. He chuckles when he sees no one.
Netherton: Did I scare him off?
Goodwin: This battle is between you and me.
Netherton: (sighs and turns around) So, that is how it's going to be.
Goodwin: (taking a stance) That is how it must be.
Netherton growls before jumping high into the air and slam kicks into the ground, where Goodwin was. Only, Goodwin jumps back and into the temple before Netherton slams into the ground, creating a small crater. He then kicks up a giant rock and kicks it towards Goodwin. The red fox spins around before punching the rock into tiny pieces. However, Netherton jumps through and punches Goodwin in the face, making him fly and smash through the doors, thankfully he lands safely.
Netherton: (outraged, walking in) I rotted in that jail for 20 years because of your weakness!
Goodwin: Obeying your master is not weakness!
Netherton: (with every ounce of hatred) You knew I was the Dragon Warrior! You always knew. But when Tzolkin said otherwise, what did you do? What did you do?! Nothing!
Goodwin: You were not meant to be the Dragon Warrior! That was not my fault!
Netherton: (approaching Goodwin) Not your fault?! Who filled my head with dreams?! (kicks a stand and Goodwin jumps over it) Who drove me to train until my bones cracked?!
He then picks up a shield and throws it. Goodwin dodges and it lodges itself inside a pillar.
Goodwin: Who denied me my destiny?!
He then picks up a stand full of sharp weapons and throws them at Goodwin. Thankfully, the old master deflects all of the weapons with ease. Netherton then picks up a large cleaver-like blade and kicks it towards Goodwin. With great skill, Goodwin makes it spin on his hand and slams it into the ground.
Goodwin: It was never my decision to make!
Netherton growls before jumping at Tzolkin's staff.
Netherton: (picking up the staff) It is now.
Goodwin glares and runs at his traitorous student. He tries to jump kick him, but Netherton blocks it and kicks him back. They both jump to the side but Netherton uses Tzolkin's staff to catch Goodwin by the neck and slam him to the ground. He begins to put pressure on the staff, choking Goodwin.
Netherton: Give me the scroll!
Goodwin: You will have to kill me!
Netherton growls and puts even more pressure on the staff. Both struggle and finally the staff gives way. It breaks in half and falls to the side. Goodwin turns and stares sadly at it. A noise catches his attention, so he turns. He doesn't have any time to block as Netherton kicks him into the wall, creating spider-cracks. Both jump into the pillars, with Netherton chasing Goodwin. Suddenly, the black dragon catches Goodwin and throws him to the roof, he then jumps and punches him through the roof, and high into the air. Goodwin could do nothing, but dodge, as Netherton punches, claws, and kicks him badly. Seeing an opening, he grabs Nethertons arm and bends it backwards. He lands on Netherton s back and they start falling towards the temple. Narrowing his eyes, Netherton elbows Goodwin and switches positions. They smash through the roof and, just as they are about to slam into the ground, Netherton lets go of Goodwin, and kicks him into a pillar. Netherton is thrown back by the force and lands on a lantern. It ignites the floor, creating blue flames. He runs through it on all fours, making the fire stay on his paws.
Netherton: ALL I EVER DID, I DID TO MAKE YOU PROUD! (giving Goodwin a barrage of punches) TELL ME HOW PROUD YOU ARE, GOODWIN! (The punches become more ferocious) TELL ME! TELL ME!
Netherton punches Goodwin so hard, he flies towards the Moon Pool. When Goodwin lands, parts of him are still smoking. Netherton stops the flames as Goodwin speaks.
Goodwin: (weakly) I have...I have always been proud of you. From the first moment, I've been...proud of you.
This stops Netherton for a moment.
Goodwin: And it was my pride that blinded me. I loved you too much to see what you were becoming...what I (looking Netherton in the eyes) ...was turning you into. I'm...I'm sorry.
Netherton's eyes widened at this. Goodwin is hopeful for a moment before Netherton's eyes narrow and he grabs him by the neck.
Netherton: I don't want your apology.
He then lifts Goodwin into the air.
Netherton: I want MY scroll!
As Goodwin struggles, Netherton looks to where the scroll was.
Netherton: (doesn't see the scroll) What?! (angrily, slamming Goodwin onto the ground) Where is it?!
Goodwin: (struggling) Dragon Warrior has taken the scroll halfway across China by now. You will never see that scroll, Tai-Lung. (making Tai-Lung extend his claws) Never.
Netherton raises his claw and is about to strike until he hears someone.
???: HEY!
Looking, he sees a boy tiger version of Luna panting at the broken doors glaring daggers at him.
Leo: (panting) Back ... away ... from my master.
Netherton: (demanding) Who are you?
Leo: (controlling his breathing) Buddy, I am the Dragon Warrior. (taking a stance) But you may call me Leo.
