Trevor’s POV
Around six in the evening, when I was just lying in bed, reading a report I had stolen from her, Heather knocked on the door.
“Come in!” I said, quickly stashing the report under my pillow.
Heather came marching into my room and thrusted a plate of food into my hands. “Eat your dinner now,” she ordered.
I looked up to her. “Err, why?” I checked the time. “It’s only six-thirty in the evening! It’s too early to eat dinner yet.”
“My cousin is coming soon so I need you to eat now and then disappear when he comes,” she replied, shrugging. “I told you that he was coming earlier and that you need to hide, remember?”
I looked at her, amused. “What I remember was you banging into a street pole,” I replied, suppressing a smile. “Are you okay? Do you see any symptoms of getting a concussion? Do you feel dizzy?” I stood up and pressed my hand against her forehead.
She scowled and slapped my hand away, careful not to spill any food onto the floor. “Funny,” she retorted.
I smirked. “I know I am.”
She just rolled her eyes. “Have you seen my English report?” she asked.
It’s right under my bed, missy. But to her, I lied and replied back, “Why would your report be in my room?”
“Good point,” she muttered. She sighed and looked around. “Seriously, though, I need you to disappear. I can’t let him know that an alien is living with me.”
“A hot alien,” I corrected, using her own words when she found out that I was from Planet Oneirataxia, that I was an alien.
“He’ll freak out and probably tell my aunt who will freak out and ground me forever,” she went on, ignoring me.
“Especially since those idiots think you’re my girlfriend so imagine what more if he hears about that,” I cracked up with laughter.
She blushed. Then she chose the moment to unblush and said, “Eat.” Without another word, she left the room.
Shrugging, I sat down to eat my dinner. Around seven, I heard the doorbell ring. Heather popped her head in. “If you’re not going to disappear, at least stay inside the room,” she said before disappearing, closing the door behind her. “Coming, Lexie!” I heard her call out from the other side of the door. Her footsteps faded away.
Bored with nothing to do, I decided to have a little fun. From where I was sitting on my bed, I held out my hand, using my powers to open the door slightly ajar wide enough for me to listen to her conversation with her cousin but not wide enough for them to suspect anything.
“So, normally, it takes you fifteen minutes to walk home and text me that you’re home safe,” her cousin Alex was saying, “so how come it took you half an hour this time to text me?”
Because two idiots tried to rape me but an incredibly sexy and hot alien saved my life. And then I banged into a street pole by accident because I could not stop thinking about the alien, was what she should have told him.
But what she actually said was, “Oh, err, well, you see . . . I made a little stop at the coffee shop. That’s why it took me longer than usual.”
