It was best not to tell even to my father about them—all of them lalo na si Dimitri. I had less information about the 'cold war' between our families—but one thing was for sure, this time, ayokong mapahamak rin siya.

"Napunta ka sa lupain ng mga Istafani?" I was totally out of appetite nang magsalita si Blanca while all were silently eating breakfast—pero mukhang fiesta na 'to sa hapag-kainan nina Manang Ester.

I smirked. "Kailan mo pa gustong makipag-usap sa'kin, Mama Blanca? This conversation even surprised me." She didn't have to lie. Alam na alam ko kung ano ang nasa loob niya—she always wanted me to be faraway—out of reached—and nowhere to be seen!

"Kinakausap kita ng matino, Charmaine. 'Wag kang bastos!" She yelled and stood up. May galit sa mukha niya at bahagya itong nanginginig. Nagtitimpi siya sa'kin dahil kay papa Leandro.

"I'm not being rude, mama. I'm just being real." Saka ako tuloyang umalis ng dining area—tuloyang nawala ang gana kong kumain. I had less sleep last night and now I lost my appetite.

Ba't hindi nila ako diretsahin?

Ba't hindi nila sabihing masaya sila sa pagkawala ko ng ilang araw? That they'd wished me not to come back to life anymore? Yun naman ang parati nilang ginagawa..

"You're safe. Glad you're safe, Charmaine." Bryan blurted. I kept my silence—maliban kay papa wala na akong ibang mapagkakatiwalaan sa kanila.

Nasa living room kaming lahat. Papa Leandro called everyone's presence tonight at saktong dumating kanina ang dal'wa.

"We're all glad that Charmaine is safe." Father started. I instantly looked at Erica's corner whose sitting next to him—nagtagpo ang mga tingin namin ngayon. I deliberately caught her glare. Umiwas ito.

"Of course, papa." Bryan seconded.

"Ipinatawag ko kayong lahat ngayon for an official family announcement—that Charmaine will be the new CEO who'll take over my position starting tomorrow." W-What? Napatuwid ako ng upo.

"What!?"

"Papa?"

"Leandro!" Everyone was horrified--maging ako sa kung anong sinabi ni papa. Was he..serious?
