Jazzy agreed to attend the basketball game with me, I was there to support Gabriel, something about him not telling me he joined the team bothered me, but he told me about tonight and I couldn't miss it.

The team was jogging out, it probably wasn't smart but I felt the need to let him know I was here.

"Good luck Gabriel!" I yelled. He looked up and forced a smile on his face like he was going to be sick. 

"From the sound of him not telling you, I don't think your Latin lover wanted you here," Jazzy said.

I just rolled my eyes at her comment, we walked into the gym, and The Martinez family spotted me and waved.

"Damn you got it good with the family too, go Ro" 

"They don't know about me and Gabriel, his dad worked with mine and we just saw each other every Christmas." 

"Oh damn, it sounds like he prefers keeping you a secret, you are worth more than some fine ass Latin lovers secret," Jazzy said.

"Mr. & Mrs. Marinez, it is so good to see you all again, and I hope you are getting settled in Little Valley" 

"We are, everyone is so welcoming and I hear we are due over your mothers tomorrow for dinner... I can't wait." Mrs. Martinez said.

When I came out I knew things would be difficult and challenging, my father is one thing but falling for someone who really is scared to be seen with you because you choose to like other men is total bullshit. Zane really didn't give a fuck and I believe that is what attracted me to him. 

Gabriel was off his game, he was struggling and I could tell Lincoln was giving him a hard time, everyone lives to worship Lincoln and I really don't understand why. 

"I should probably go." 

"You know I am with you boo." We got up not saying a word and headed out the gym when I glanced I saw Gabriel peaking at me I looked the other way and exited the gym.

My mom went all out, she cooked mini crab cakes, rice & broccoli casserole with a pretzel dessert for later.

"The twins are running wild." mom said.

"Don't worry I got them, mom."  She smiled and cuffed my face. "I am sorry, you do a lot for me and the girls." 

"And you deserve to be happy if Principal Smith makes you happy then happy is what you deserve.

"Speaking of, he is coming for dinner." 

Forcing a smile on my face, "Hope he brings an appetite" I smiled.

There was a knock on the door, and it was Principal Smith. "Tony!" my mom yelled, and they kissed barely letting him in the door.

"Ew... too early," I said.

"Oh, sorry Rowan." Principal Smith said. 

"It's cool, just let me leave the room." 

"Something new" mom said.

"Oh, I get it." Principal Smith said.

I was so caught up playing with the twins, I didn't see Gabriel standing in the doorway.

"Hiya handsome," he said.

"That's not Zane" Raven yelled.

"No, his name is Gabriel," I said while standing up.

I pushed him out in the hallway, he leaned in for a kiss but I stopped him.

"No, you can't even walk up and down the hallways without you worried about what Lincoln and his minions and what they will think."

"Shit is complicated"  I waved my hand in the air stopping him. "I struggled with coming out, dealing with bullshit from whoever disagreed and I just refuse to be with someone who can't love me in public." 

"That is you .. I'm not like you. We can't be together if you can't respect my wishes." Gabriel said.

Gabriel has a point, you cannot force someone out of the closet, I was being selfish.

"Gabriel, you are right and I'm sorry." He smiled and pulled me in with his hands and kissed me.

"We will figure this out," I said.

"Together... now let's eat some of those crab cakes your mom made," Gabriel added.
