Mush and Jojo were paired up, and it was a neutral pairing. The two didn't really talk; they were both good friends with Buttons however. That was basically it.
When they entered the maze, the conversation was quiet and polite, just idle chatter. By the end of it, they had about twelve inside jokes and were telling wild stories.
You see, once inside the maze, they were kinda forced to chat to find a way out, and naturally, those conversations, especially as getting out appeared more and more impossible, led to tangential chats about everything and anything. The tangents, naturally, led to inside jokes and other fun things of that nature.
By the time they finished, (they were seventh by the way), they emerged from the maze laughing and chatting at a speed that surprised everyone who waited at the end.
