a few hours pass and the resident dinner is about to start
Dereks POV
I was getting ready for the dinner for the residents! This meant that I was going to see Meredith after not seeing her for two days! I really wanted to talk to her..to see what was going to happen next. Maybe we just need a break from each other she is the love of my life I don't want to split up with her forever but I think time will do is good! I was done getting ready and I head out to the lounge where the dinner was gonna be at! Residents slowly started arriving their was no sign of Meredith.
Richard did a speech to the residents:
"All the years every single one of you spent here you all have shown so much effort and have worked very hard to get where you are today! Some of you got accepted to the greatest fellowships! And I am beyond grateful to be called one of your mentors! Even though not every resident is here for unfortunate reason I am lucky to have one last night with you! And I can't wait to see how y'all succeed have a good evening and enjoy"

Derek was very confused because Meredith never showed up but Derek found Richard a little suspicious he maybe thought that he might know where she's at! I decided to walk up to Richard and be straight forward and ask

"Richard I need to talk to you it's urgent"
"whats up derek"
"where's Meredith?!"
"aren't you supposed to know that"
"You and me both know that me and Meredith haven't been speaking in good terms since my trial ended"
"Derek I don't know where Meredith is at!"
"I know your lying to me richard!!!"
"Derek take a walk...maybe she didn't want to come it wasn't mandatory"

Derek than decided to go to merediths house he hasn't been to their house ever since they argued it felt strange walking in their was no sign of anybody home usually Lexie would be home but she was most likely at the hospital Derek closes the door and starts going up the stairs the door to their room was shut and it looked dark he didn't know what to expect he the. opens the door calling out merediths name
"meredith can we-" he stopped talking when he realized the room was empty
At his first glance he sees the letter Meredith had left him

DEREKS POV
I see an envelope and theirs so many thoughts going through my head...I don't want it to be what I'm thinking about. I walk up to the bed and I sit down I grab the envelope and well it says my name "Derek" my heart was pounding I wasn't ready but I proceeded. I opened the envelope to find a letter I start reading it. theirs tears running down my face and I haven't even read half of the beginning. She left me!
"Meredith left me she left she left me!!" I cry out to myself in the empty room
"I can't believe she left me this is all my fault I made her feel like my dream wrecker and unvalued this cant be happening" I said to myself
I look up to find the post it missing to actually see if she took it and she did it's not their anymore! I go to the closet to only find my clothes and I start to cry!I never meant for any of this to happen especially not to Meredith I never wanted her to feel the need to leave me! I put my trial over her when it should've been the opposite she is the love of my life and I made her want to run away from me!
I start to walk down the stairs with the letter in my hand then I hear someone opening the door my heart raises to think it's Meredith even though I know it's not...it's Lexie

"Derek what are you doing here"
"i-i-um wanted to talk to Meredith to my wife but um she left me *i started to cry* she left me Lexie and it's all my fault"
"Derek it's okay!"
"do you know where she's at"
"*i hesitate to answer* um no"
"you hesitated Lexie YOU HESITATED YOU KNOW WHERE SHE IS"
"Derek calm down"
"CALM DOWN! I can't calm down because I made her leave and I want her back and I'll get her back without anybody's help"
*he runs out and slams the door*
