as I was driving in circles I was thinking where she could be! That's when it hit me...if she left that meant she had to resign from SGMW and say where she was going to do her fellowship and their was no better person to ask! I run as fast as I can to the chiefs office

"Derek calm down what's going on"
"WHERE IS SHE"
"Who's she?!!"
"don't act stupid with me. WHERE IS MEREDITH"
"Derek sit down"
" Richard please tell me where she's at now please I need to go get her"
"when someone leaves without telling you where their going it's maybe because they don't want to be found"
"i didn't want her to leave I didn't want any of this"
"Derek you made her feel the need to leave, Derek  put yourself in her shoes"
"DAMMIT Richard I need her ...I need to hear her voice ...I need to kiss her...I need to hold her she's the love of my life I can't just let her go"
"I'm sorry derek but I can't help you"
Derek walked out with tears in his eyes he just couldn't process all of it! I called Meredith Over and over and I left so many voicemails and messages but I never got a call back or a reply:(

Meredith's POV
I now know that Derek found out that I left I wanted to go back with him but I know that would be the worst mistake I could make for our marriage! If I wanted a fresh start I knew what I needed to do first which was to contact a lawyer

"hi daisy it's Meredith from Seattle"
"Yes Meredith what can I do for you"
"um I actually need to file for a divorce"
"you and Derek are getting a divorce"
"yes unfortunately we don't work and it's for the best but I would like to ask for a favor"
"yes go ahead"
"he can't know where to find me; I don't want him to come running back to me! You will first give me the papers I will sign first then I will ship them back to you so you can ship them from your office that way their is no address to where im at"
"sounds good! I will respect your wishes fully! I'll do as fast as I can and will send them over take care!"

A few weeks pass after Meredith files the divorce! On merediths side she's trying really hard to look at the bright side of this whole mess she misses Derek with every bit of her heart but she knows that she can't go back! Derek has been working but he's still trying to find out where Meredith could be at! 
a few days after Meredith finished signing the divorce it was a simple divorce because their was nothing we own together except a house he wanted to build but he hadn't started it so it was fine! they got shipped back to daisy and she sent them to Derek that same day! I was heartbroken just to imagine the look on Dereks face when he receives the paper! I hid a note with the divorce papers attached to it so Derek could get it to!

Dereks POV
I was working like normal day just thinking about Meredith I couldn't get her out of my head I've tried to contact her...but I think richard was right I don't think she wants me to find her. I just didn't know how to accept it! Weeks have passed without me hearing from her and it just killed me. I was walking to the attending lounge after my surgery was over I just wanted to sit down for awhile...as I sat down for not too long someone interrupts my silence
"Dr.Shepherd?" Said this mail looking guy
"yes thats me" i replied
"this is for you..have nice day" he handed me a big orange envelope and left
I sit up properly to open the envelope and I was shocked...they were the divorce papers. Meredith sent me the divorce papers just like she said on the note as I start taking the rest of the papers out this other tiny envelope falls out...I picked it up and opened it to find a letter surely it was from Meredith! I didn't hesitate to read it.......
"Derek i have sent you the divorce papers because I meant what I said... I want you to be happy I want you to be with someone who understands your needs and who understands right to wrong! Don't make this hard as much as this hurts me to say...I'm begging you to sign them! I feel stuck at the moment like I can't breath...I feel like I'm drowning just by knowing that I'm still connected with you && i don't want to be because that just reminds me of what I took from you. I took your dream your everything and I just can't take the pain...so please please sign them and ship the back to daisy! derek sign the please because I won't be coming back...I'm not coming back home sorry
