Legalizing magic

The next morning I wake up to Merlin shoving me lightly in the side. I scowl "Good morning to you too." he smiles "Come on, you've got a meeting of the lords today." I smile and kiss his cheek "Help me get ready?" he nods and disappears into his room reappearing in clean clothes. I swing my legs to the side of the bed and stand up pulling on a clean shirt. Merlin smiles and helps me into my armour securing my cape around my neck. "Crown?" he nods and places it gently onto my head putting it on a wonk slightly. I sigh and straighten it "Is that everything?" he nods then hands me my sword "Am I allowed in this meeting?" 

I nod "You can stand with Gaius of to the side." he smiles and kisses my cheek "I'll see you there." I nod and he walks out of the room. 

Merlin P/O/V:

I smile and walk into the throne room edging around the side to stand with Gaius who smiles "I'm proud of you Merlin." I smile "Really?" he nods "Magic is going to be legal, Arthur is on the throne and Morgana is no longer a threat." I smile and nod "Merlin is there something your not telling me?" I shrug "Why do you ask?" he smiles and looks at Arthur as he walks into the room "You've been spending a lot of time with Arthur recently and I was wondering if something was going on." I stare at Gaius shocked he smiles and shrugs "Just a hunch." I shake my head smiling and turn to Arthur as he begins to speak.

"Thank you for attending, as you know I am not my father. I intend to be a fair ruler and not kill anyone unless necessary. My first change is magic is going to be legalized. Any magic used for harm or the power is abused the people involved will be dealt with severely." Almost everyone in the room cheers and outside several loud bangs go off and what looks like colourful sparks fill the sky. Mordred grins at me and I smile back using my magic to speak in his mind We're free. I smile at Gaius and Arthur motions for silence. "Also I have decided to lift the ban on gay marriage, anyone should be free to marry who they wish. Love is love no matter who it is with. People should not feel scared to express their feelings for the one they love." Everyone cheers and I see Percy and Gwaine kiss. Lancelot also kisses Gwen. I smile and Arthur smiles observing the room "Thank you, you are dismissed." 

I grin and walk over to Arthur "How come you didn't tell me about the lift of the ban on being outwardly gay?" he shrugs and grins "I wanted it to be a surprise, and now I can do this in public." he kisses me then walks away, I grin and Gaius laughs "I guess I was right." I scowl at him "I thought you had left." he shrugs and we walk out the room together.
