The next day, Jaemin entered the café a bit earlier than usual. Jeno greeted him happily, yet he noticed something was off about him. He seemed more distant, and Jeno had a bad feeling.
"Hey Jaemin, are you feeling alright?" Jeno asked, soon after noticing a large cut on the boy's eyebrow.
"Is that a cut? What happened?" He questioned, concerned about the boy. He then proceeded to lift his hand to the boy's face, instantly being pushed away.
"It's nothing, I'm fine," Jaemin insisted, in a defensive tone.
Jeno decided not to push further and instead began to make Jaemin's usual order.
"Here you go, it's on the house."
Jaemin just nodded, obviously in no mood to argue, as he took a seat at one of the tables.
Jeno tried to continue with his job but he was becoming more worried as he noticed Jaemin silently staring off into space. He decided he would have to cheer him up.
After serving the last customer of the afternoon rush, he went to the back room.
"Jaehyun, do you mind taking over? I think something's wrong with Jaemin."
