reece wasn't allowed out of his house for the next week due to his injuries.
his parents were also pretty pissed about his phone.
he didn't go to school at all until ages later.
his head was fucked.
blake missed him.
they both got new phones, but neither had the other's number.
they had begun to drift away from each other, but neither of the boys had stopped thinking about the other.

reece turned up to school the next monday, dressed in his uniform.
bruises were still scattered across his body, but he looked happy, a smile across his face as he walked through the school gates.
it was a fake smile though.
blake saw him straight away, and went running over, leaving george behind to talk to megan.

"reeceyyyy!"
blake smiled, pulling the blonde boy into a gentle hug, kissing his head whilst doing so.

"i missed you blakey.. sososo much"
reece whispered, burying his head in the taller boys chest whilst smiling slightly.
they still had ten minutes until school officially started, so they spoke for a little while.

"are you okay now bubba?"
blake asked, holding reece's hand whilst looking at the few bruises that could be seen.
they walked to first period together.
it was music; the only class they had together apart from revision sessions instead of pe.
today they had a theory lesson, so there were no instruments in sight.
they met up with brad and george in the classroom.

"reece mate, i hope you're alright"
george smiled at the boy.

"i didn't tell him what happened"
blake whispered into reece's ear.
no one knows what happened.
not even their best friends.
reece nodded and smiled in gratitude.

it's not that they didn't want to press charges, it's just that neither of them were ready to say anything about it to their parents.
it was a bad experience, and the two boys had been traumatised by the events.
reece physically, but blake mentally.

they sat down at their desks and listened to their teacher ramble on about scales and arpeggios.
it was terrible.
they held hands under the table; blake rubbing reece's hand with his thumb.
reece slowly fell asleep, his head falling onto blake's shoulder.
he went unnoticed by everyone but blake until he started snoring.
loudly.
the teacher walked over and slammed a book down on the table in front of him.
reece screeched and buried his head in blake's arm, beginning to cry quietly.

"what's wrong with him?"
mr cliff, their teacher, asked.

"panic attack sir.. can i take him outside?"
blake asked, starting to stand up whilst pulling reece up with him.

"go ahead"
he sighed whilst shrugging, going back to teaching the class whilst blake carried reece outside.

"d-don't hurt me.."
reece whispered, holding onto the starchy fabric of blake's white shirt tightly.

"hey hey hey no one's gonna hurt you now angel, i'm here to keep you safe"
blake told him, holding him close.
reece was very jumpy, getting scared at the smallest things, including footsteps behind him.
he didn't trust many people anymore.
blake, brad, and george were the only people he allowed to talk to him for more than two minutes.

the boys stayed outside until reece had calmed down, then they walked inside and sat back down in their seats next to brad and george.
they were lucky that they didn't have a seating plan.
blake didn't let go of his hand until they had to part for their next lesson, english.

reece hated english so much.
he didn't get to see blake, and he just didn't quite understand the subject in general.
is he going to walk around tesco quoting shakespeare one day?
he didn't think so, but you never know what might happen in the future.

he zoned out for most of the lesson, until the guidance counsellor walked in asking for him.
he gathered his things, quickly throwing them into his backpack.
the class were looking at him the whole time.
he rushed out of the room, walking down the corridor to miss elliot's office.
it was cosy in there, definitely designed to make students feel comfortable.
he knocked on the door and walked inside.

"reece.. it's nice to see you"
miss elliot smiled at him, inviting him to have a seat.

"hello.."
reece mumbled, sitting down in the chair.

"we've got to talk about something important, and you've got to tell the truth okay?"
she asked the blonde, watching his moves with a serious look on her face.

"okay"
reece nodded.
he was nervous.
his palms were sweating.

"where did you get the bruises from?"
