The following morning
You'd woken up relatively early and was helping Pearson out by preparing the pots of coffee for the day. You'd placed one down by the cooking fire, where the pot would normally be, and was now heading to the campfire to put the other one down.
It was helpful having two coffee pots. Means not everyone crowds around the same place.
As you crouched to place it down, you were nudged by presumably someone's boot."Mornin'" Micah greeted you as you looked up at him.
"Good morning Micah, sleep well?" You asked him as you poured him a cup of coffee and handed it to him. He smiled and took the coffee from you before replying.
"Not any better than usual." He grumbled as he settled on one of the logs covered by a wolf pelt.
"Oh, I see." You replied as you poured yourself some coffee and sat opposite him.
"Sadie have much to say for herself?"
"Ah, we cleared things up. Turns out Molly told her about...well you know." You briefly enlightened him.
Micah's expression shifted at the mention of your secret."Shifty. I'd have it out with her if I was you." Micah said as he sipped his coffee. You frowned and shook your head at his proposition.
"Don't be stupid. She isn't like that. Besides, it's gunna get out sooner or later. Everyone has their issues. I need to just...let mine go." You sighed as you swilled the coffee around in the metal mug.
"I suppose. Don't let it eat you up. Besides, I meant what I said." Micah said almost mumbling as he finished his coffee, shaking the excess onto the ground and placing the mug down on the ground for someone else to clear up.
"What...what do you mean?" You questioned him as you tilted your head and looked over at him.
He rested his elbows on his knees and leaned forward as he looked you straight in the eyes.
"That I wouldn't let anything like that happen to you again." Micah vowed. You blushed as you remembered how he'd initially promised you that back in Valentine. You hadn't taken his word at all seriously and therefore forgotten. Seems he did really care about you after all. You smiled shyly as you tilted your head.
"Didn't think you actually meant that." You said as you peaked up at him, attempting to hide your growing blush.
He smiled as he stood up gently stretched out his back.
"I'm a man of my word, (Y/N)." He said as he walked over to you, looking down at your small figure. He scruffed your hair in a childish and annoying manner. You pulled your head away and laughed, amused at the gesture."Get outta here. Do something useful for once." You teased him with a laugh.
He looked down at you, and laughed in a sarcastic manner. Clearly taken back by your attitude."Watch it girl, or I won't be so nice to you in future." Micah attempted to threaten you but the smile remained on his face.
"Oooh, hit me where it hurts." You teased in an almost flirtatious manner as you gazed up at him with your deep and practically hypnotic eyes. He chuckled yet backed away with his hands raised in that sarcastic merciful gesture he likes to do.
Smiling, you swigged the last of your coffee and stood. Bending down to pick up Micah's cup, you heading round to the back of Pearson's wagon to put the cups in the water barrel.
Coming round to the front of the wagon, you witness a conversation between Sean and John. Sean was stood with a repeater in hand looking rather pleased with himself whilst John mocked him behind the eyes. A smirk threatened to creep onto his face but he kept it at bay."I'm tellin' ya Pearson! I'll bring you the pelts ya need so you can do your thing." Sean expressed excitedly to Pearson.
"Whatever Mr. Macguire, as long as it's useable. No rotting or ripped pelts." Pearson instructed.
