To those who wonder about the petrified gummy residue, it can all be traced right back in the WNA main building on the 10th floor. The center of it was an effigy of an enormous muscular humanoid gum golem posing with a ninja hand sign. The awoken ninjas from down under ran up the walls of the broken elevator, one of them caused the tenth floor's ceiling to shutter and crumble by performing large leaps from five floors each. The lapses of their jolting caused some of the debris to fall on the effigy, cracking it after the ninja were out of sight. The effigy cracking caused more of a tremor than the jumping lapses itself, causing fissures to crack throughout the connected old gum structures outside to collapse and break off of the tower.
Once the effigy finally shatters, a glowing yellow blob pops out and bounces around until it lands on a clearing. After the illumination is gone, its blob starts to take on its form: growing out its stumpy arms and stubby legs, then a black pigmentation starts to form a mask which shows a pair of big goofy eyes. The finalization of his form is that of a strange gooey ghost jellyfish thing, with a mouth and buck teeth. He stretches out, finally waking up from his slumber and feels around his belly, the gummy little creature panics after feeling that he's missing some of his effects.
He dashes around the rubble of his confinement and finds a shuriken and plants it as his belly trademark. Glad to have found one of his precious treasures, he takes out a bamboo sword out of nowhere and charges forth into the elevator shaft with excitement and vigor. The little gum wad leaps from the wall of the shaft for hours on end, trying to reach an opening or any sign of light. It seemed arduous to the point of him losing his breath once or twice getting stuck on the wall and near losing his bamboo sword a few times.
He only got as far as to floor 75, where the little critter finally gets a long breather. The yellow creature waddles his way into the laboratory, remembering what this place was. He remembers that scientists were frantic about this place many centuries ago and they were treating eight injured individuals- one of them he remembers fondly. Once he remembers his spiky haired mug, the gummy thingy started assaulting the many computer consoles with his bamboo sword jabbering in some weird angry gibberish, hoping that it might have done something. Yet to no one's surprise, it only caused a system malfunction which will force the laboratory on security lockdown.
One of the security identification cameras was reactivated and located the one who started it, it scanned the now scared stiff gum creature and identified it as Gumchi the World Ninja Association's Guardian and mascot. Once his identification has been matched in its system, security lockdown was deactivated. This also brought up the remaining cryogenic chambers from the floor. Gumchi didn't know what just happened, but he couldn't care less and focused on looking for his friend. All he did was spot the one with spiky hair, and found one he did. He booped the release button on the side and waited for his awakening, but after all the grandeur of a big awaited hug Gumchi was disappointed right away.
The kid that came out stumbling was a blond short haired boy wearing glasses and a sizable lab coat and purple headphones. This was once Dr. Burton, the head developer of the famous if not infamous Ninja Gum, but he wasn't what Gumchi was looking for and swats him aside near the console. After he cools his head and reorienting his scan over the last chambers, he finally finds some hair that's taller and spiker than Burton's. Pressing the release button and impatiently taps his stubby foot, assuming it might be another random ninja, but to his surprise he finally found him! What stumbled out was an urban kid with silver spiky hair and with a purple streak, wearing a red puffy vest over a hooded short sleeve sweater and denim long shorts. This was indeed Van, the master's last and personal student and Gumchi's close friend. He was overjoyed to find him at last, for the last time he saw him was during the war.
He twinges at the horrid memories of the ninja war, where his extraterrestrial enemies invaded Eagle City, and the rest of the WNA ninja had to fight them off to the last kid. The air was filled with civilians screaming in terror from being captured by the Alien Ninjas and gummy figures clashing blades with the eight most prominent ninjas of the academy- Van being one of them. Gumchi could remember being fed a strange gum ball by Burt and turning big and angry, all he did was attack anything moving, even his allies. And the last memory was seeing Van injured and hurt from a large Gum Alien nearly pummeling him to death.
Gumchi reels back from those memories as he hears the elevator actually doing its work if not being so loud and clunky. The elevator descends from the top floor screeching on its rusted rails, right outside of the lab's corridors. At one thought, Gumchi believes that the invaders are still alive somehow and panics by carrying Van away from this place- even though it looks like he's just dragging him across the floor. In haste the little gummy thingy manages to get into the receptionist's area and tries to find another way down, which leads to the arduous stairwell in the opposite direction of the elevator. This was more of a pain to deal with but he only needed to hide him until the unknown company passed by.
The doors of the elevator opened up to reveal a couple of black veiled ninja running, they were drawn by the security alarm setting off in the laboratory. As they surveyed the area, all that was there was nothing. Practically all of the cryogenic chambers were open somehow, except for one. After a closer inspection, one of the ninja realizes who was in the last one. The last chamber's console reads, Stabilizing, subject Lucy. In the glass, they see it defogging, showing the face of a blue twin tail haired girl with a medical right eye patch. They all knew who she was and reel back from it as it was about to open. Out of all the ninja in the academy, Lucy was known as a monster. Her strange ninja bloodline ability, or Tekkei Genkai, had a devastating affect that terrorized everyone around her, even the top 8 students.
But as the casket door was halfway open, her left eye was shot open as the right eye glows a piercing red glow beneath the patch. The entire metal chamber breaks and liquifies into flowing and distorted shapes along with the canisters of liquid nitrogen also melting into the abominable and chaotic shape which also steams out the nitrogen into a cold mist. Though a few of them were afraid, the leading members were armed up with their gum weapons getting ready for Lucy to do her worst. In the mist's silhouette she slowly crawled out of the monstrosity's maw as she shakes her sleepies away and fixes her hair.
As the scouting party await for her move, the metal floor beneath one of them silently holds their feet down and Lucy's signature weapon the Mellow à la Mode strikes into the ceiling pipes in an uppercut trick. "That was a rude wake up call!" Her voice was heard echoing from her spot as she slowly steps out of the mist with her yoyo rolling and following her after with her infamous wicked smile. She pulls I back into her hand ready to maul someone to death, "Who's next?" During her confrontation, in the shadows of the ceiling pipes, Burton hides in the shadows as he carries two of the remaining cryogenic occupants in his arms- jumping away into the darkness.
At the 90th Floor, Gumchi was exhausted from carrying his friend towards a broken glass opening. This time, he was also carrying a gumball machine with plenty of different Ninja Gums inside on his back. After a brief rest, he sees the state of Eagle City. It was underground and in ruins from the ninja war. All he could see is endless darkness beyond the city yet also spots a giant hole in the stone ceiling. It's the only source of hope he has for him and his friend. Before he could do anything, Gumchi gags and coughs up a scroll with a seal on it, remembering the Grand Ninja Master's words, "You must give this to Van if I should leave from this world for the next. This will also involved the other seven as well, be safe my gummy friend..."
A single tear runs from his cheek as he snaps back to reality. He stuffs the scroll into the gum machine, not a great idea, and stretches and wraps his legs around Van. He inhales the musty air and blows himself into a balloon, big enough for lift off. He steers himself with his stubby arms as they ascend to the giant glowing hole, he looks back at the building, remembering that it use to be a pair of towers and reminiscing he serenity of the city's blue skies and the many ninja who've training under the grand master's tutelage. As he makes his way out. Ron was watching them escape from the top of the tower, ready to move out himself. One of the scouting party members radioed him via hidden earpiece, alerting him that Lucy's on a rampage.
He confirms the team about the situation and reassures them that he'll take care of her. After taking a sigh of stress, he blows a large bubble which he grabs and molds it into an blue IPPON Katana preparing to face down the infamous metal melter.
