Your POV
It was my first ever time at Bondi, I was really looking forward to it. I was with my mum and my dad, it has always been us three up against the world. My mum was always away with work so her being here made it even more special.

I saw the beach and couldn't wait, I ran as fast as possible to get on the beach, my dad has to hold me back so I didn't get lost. "Y/N, you are only 7, don't go running off like that!" He told me off. I didn't care, nothing could ruin this experience for me.

"Come on, I want to go in the ocean! I promise I'll swim between the flags, I just want to swim, please." I begged, my dad just sighed and nodded. He then started chasing me and I ran off giggling. I finally reached the ocean and I was so excited "dad can I go swim now?" I asked and got no response "dad? Dad? Dad! Where are you?" I was beginning to panic, this man walked up to me.

"Hi there, are you ok?" He asked I like his voice, it has a tone that just made me feel like everything was going to be fine.

"No, I lost my dad. He was chasing me here and now I've lost him." I said trying not to cry.

"I'm Kristian, but everyone calls me Yatesy, what's your name?" He asked.

"I'm Y/N and I just turned 7!" I told him, really pleased I'm 7, he just nodded then grabbed a radio.

"North rhino to central." He said
"Central here." Someone on the other end of the radio said.
"I have a lost child here called Y/N, she's 7. Her dad was chasing her and she lost him. She's wearing a blue two-piece with glitter on." He said.
"Copy bring her up."

"Ok, Y/N, we are going to take a trip up to the tower now." He said and I nodded, driving in the 'rhino' as they called it was fun. When we got to the tower there was a lot of men, some looked young while others looked old enough to be my dad. they all introduced themselves. There was, Maxi, Harrison and Kerrbox sat up there. Harrison had a funny accent, Maxi got him to say 'chips' but he said 'chups'.

Maxi had the 'job' of looking after me, he didn't seem to care, in fact he stated making up games and telling me all the pranks they pull on each other. He told me about a prank Reidy and Kerrbox pulled on him, they trashed Corey's place, when he was looking after it. That reminded of a prank me and my best friend pulled on my dad once, that then reminded of why I was in the tower. I realised then that my dad was still not here and it had been almost an hour. "When is my dad coming?" I asked and Maxi just looked at me.

"We are still looking for you dad, but I promise as soon as we find him, he'll be up here in an instant." Maxi said trying to reassure me.

I was with the lifeguards for another hour until my dad arrived "Y/N, where have you been? I've been worried sick." My dad said, I didn't respond, I just ran into his arms.

"She's been with us for the past 2 hours, Maxi has been keeping her entertained. I think we need to organise a day where they can get back together. Anyway I have to radio all the boys so they know you found her." Kerrbox said.

"Bye Maxi." I said, really upset. Maxi, even though he is over double my age, and I got along really well and I wanted to see him again.

"Wait! Can I give you my number?" Maxi asked my dad he nodded and passed Maxi his phone, he typed numbers in and gave my dad his phone back. "There now we can meet up sometime. Who cares is you are way younger than me, I still want to be your friend. See you soon Y/N!"

I let go of my dad and ran back to Maxi giving him a huge hug. "You are so lucky we just moved here because it would be hard to hang out if I went back to Norway we would not be able to hang out." I giggled, and I felt him laugh in the hug, I let go and went back to my dad "See you soon Maxi, bye Kerrbox, bye Harrison, maybe one day we will have to get Fish and Chups together." I laughed emphasising 'Chups' everyone laughed apart from my dad.

"You've only been here 2 hours and already have inside jokes, let's go Y/N. Bye guys" my dad said and I waved following my dad.

"Bye!" They all shouted. Maxi was like my best friend, I had decided to bake a cake for them with my mums help, because of how kind they were.

1 year later

It has been a year since I met the lifeguards, I stated grommets and learnt how to surf, I visit the lifeguards everyday. For my birthday the lifeguards got me a blue rashie that said 'honorary lifeguard'. They did this because on the weekends Hoppo let me sit in the tower and help look at the water. Hoppo along with all the other lifeguards told me that when I'm old enough I should become a junior lifeguard or clubby as they called them.

That one time I got lost, helped me make lots of friends, even if they are older than me. It helped me know that when I'm older, I want to be a lifeguard, I want to help people like they do and maybe work there until I'm H's age.
