"Welcome back," I heard from across the room.
Glen sat in an oversized chair eating a fancy little dinner and drinking some wine.
"I'm not sure if you want me back," I said standing next to the table. I quickly glanced around the room and saw his bodyguards two in every corner.
"How much where you able to remember?" He asked.
Oh, the smile on his face as if he thought he wasn't going to die for what he did.
"Trust me, I know enough," I said. This puzzled me for a moment, I was able to see years of my life in seconds but... I stayed the same, my form, height, it was like I stayed the same age in the flashbacks.
"Confused are we?" he asked with that same smug annoying smile.
"Give me one good reason to keep you alive?" I asked with my dagger at my side.
"I could give you 4, actually no I can't they're all dead... Oh, that's right! You murdered them...All," he said.
I would need time to think of who that was or maybe I didn't look far enough back.
"Now, why don't you sit down and eat," he offered.
Did he take me for a fool? With his personal army in the corners and me with only one arm, I wasn't about to fall into that trap. I stared blankly at the table.
"Ah, of course, my apologies, you feel unsure of how powerful you are, you don't want to sit in case this is indeed a trap," he said like reading my mind.
"I know there is a way for me to heal this, tell me how!" I demanded to know.
"Eat! Then I will tell you, I need you to recover anyways, you never completed your mission," he said. My heart froze.
"My-my, mission," I whispered to myself I knew that this mission was and it almost cost me my life. I looked down at the plate of food that was set for me, and the glass of wine placed in front of it. I sat down once again scanning the room for any and every way out in case something didn't go right. I started to eat when he spoke up again.
"You learned how to use your power properly once before, and you knew what was required of you in the process but since this, shall we say unfortunate event occurred and we no longer have someone from your original training for you to learn from. You will be retrained once again. Do you understand what this means?" He asked.
Those words hit like a whip, training something I spent years doing all that knowledge gained was now lost.
"Is that necessary?" I asked, wishing so very much that I would be able to learn another way.
"Let us just get through the meal and then we shall discuss the matter of your arm," Glen said taking another drink of this wine. I sat there and ate grieving over the sound of having to train once again.
