"Vidals are good, she's coming out."
"Go get her some water, she sweat it all off last night."
I blinked. "I woke up," I stated bluntly.
"You're in a lot of pain, are you okay?" The Dr asked.
"I'm alive," I said staring up at the ceiling not wishing to look upon anyone.
"You lost a lot of blood, you're going to feel very tired." He said.
"Can I go to sleep then?" I asked.
"I'm afraid not, someone's coming to get you to finish your training," he said.
I now realized that my so-called training was just me looking in a mirror until my passed is recovered.
"Why does he want me?" I asked.
"Because no one can access the knowledge you have in your head but you. He needs that in order to complete his goal," he said while he busied himself with things to check on.
"What's his goal?" I asked.
There was an awkward pause.
"What?" I asked seeing how something was wrong.
"You, you made his goal," he said. Confused I waited for the answer to my question.
"Peace, he has you to make peace with this dying world," he said.
"I'm ready," I said.
"No, you're not, you're in a lot of pain, it's not even numbed!" He shouted at me.
I tried to sit up. I could see my arms weren't stepped and neither was my torso. I stood up, not bothering to look at the Dr
"Pain is my comfort zone. It's how I know I'm still alive." I staid starting to unplug whatever was hooked up to me.
"Stop you can't just jump in like that!" He yelled trying to get me to stay there.
"Who's the man that wants my information back?" I asked.
There was another pause. "Glen Howard," He said softly.
I walked over to the door of the room looking down to avoid eye contact with people. I waited only a moment then screamed
"GLEN HOWARD?!" There was a remote silence that shocked me as it seemed no one dared to move or breathe.
After a long minute, I could hear the faintest of footsteps I smirked knowing that was him. I waited until they came a few feet closer, although he was down the hall I don't want my enemies to get to close. I put up the best front I could, to my surprise it came very easily. I chuckled.
"Now, there is no need to play such childish games as to go as far as to attempt to torture me, we're both adults here, we can settle this like normal people," I stated not knowing if indeed I was an adult.
I waited for a response.
"Are you hungry? I bet you are, dinner at the dining hall after you get cleaned up at 1800."
It seemed fair enough to me.
"I live here, right?" I asked.
"Indeed," he said. "Mitchel will take you to your room since you aren't familiar with it."
I nodded and waited as I heard footsteps come my way, still looking down I could see shoes, very shiny black shoes. I could see an elbow being extending as if he wanted me to grab it and follow him. For only a second I listened to everything around me, I could hear the Dr's heartbeat and the shuffling of shoes down the hall but as close as this man was he was like stone, I couldn't hear anything from him. I reached out and took it, we stalked to walk down the hall passing the men that stood there. Mitchel didn't give the slightest indication he was weak, even his walking pattern was steady straight like he knew where he was going. We eventually turned down into another hall. My head still looking at the floor. Suddenly we stopped. I looked up only to see the door. His elbow disbanded from mine. I guess this is my stop, I thought to myself.
"I'll be waiting out here when you're ready to join Mr. Howard," he said, still steady as a stone.
I didn't bother looking at him, I just reached for the doorknob and opened it then walked in shutting the door as I passed. My spirits perked as I saw a bed, this time I thought it through, if I didn't show up for dinner I would be woken up and probably killed in my dream so that doesn't seem like a good idea, but I actually was very hungry and a shower sounded oh so nice.
