I continued to stare at the mirror wishing I wanted to see my self enough that it would show me what I looked like but I continuously kept getting angry. Finally, I took a breath and backed away from the vanity. Something in my mind clicked to make a few adjustments to my dress. I touched the sleeve of it and decided I wanted it to come off. With just a little thought it turned into a sleeveless dress. I walked over to the vines growing on part of the wall. I reached out for them and they grew more crystals, I brushed my hair onto my left shoulder and gently put the crystals in like pins. I walked back over to the vanity once again, not to look in the mirror but to grab the blush and brush it ever so slightly on my cheeks, after I did that I reached for the lipstick. I looked at what color it was at first it was a bright pink but it slowly started to change shades finally it stopped on a darker red with a shine to it. I put it on my lips framing them with the oh so elegant red. I looked down and saw the crown sitting there. I picked it up and didn't like the size, instead of a crown it was more like a tiara I placed it upon my head hoping it was straight. I walked out of the bedroom and looked down the hall, it was just as I left it.

Vine covered the wall as you walked down and the whole place was light up by galaxys and crystals. I walked down the ruined hall feeling like a princess about to do something great. I reached the end of the hall and saw Devon standing there. I never really noticed the clothes Devon wore. He looked at me with big eyes then straightened himself up, he bowed slightly.

"I didn't know what uniform you wanted me to wear so I chose this one," he said and as he stood up a soldier's uniform replaced the t-shirt and jeans he wore pryer.

He smiled like he did something oh so cleverly.

"Are we going somewhere?" I asked.

He extended his hand for me to take, as I did we started to walk through the grand hall into another hallway. He stopped, all I could see was darkness. Even the galaxy vines stopped growing, like life itself just ended there. I let go of Devon's hand as he walked into the darkness. He looked back.

"Do you not trust me?" he asked. I looked at him.

"Is there a reason I should?" I asked.

"Hmmm, guess not," he said. Then faded into the darkness.

I was shocked and curious. I ran into the darkness with no regard for coming out. I looked back, I could no longer see the hall lights. I turned back to see where I was going Devon scared me as he was right there smiling at me, how I could tell since there was no light anywhere I don't know. I just could. A faded light seemed to be coming from somewhere, I looked down to see the glitter on my dress was coming off and forming into fireflys lighting up the new world around me. I then could see a silhouette of Devon I walked carefully over to feel a bit more secure.

"Hope?" He asked seeing how curious I was about this new world being lite by fireflys.

I quickly looked back at him. "Yes?" I asked turning to look at him, my heart felt light and fresh that I didn't want to wake up anymore.

"It's almost time to go..." His voice trailed off.

"No, no I don't want to," I said wishing if I died that I could live here.

"I'm sorry but we need to talk, I need to explain before they wake you up, okay? I don't want you to get hurt anymore." He said. I looked at him my eyes filling up with tears and the cruel world where I lived wanted nothing but harm and torture.

"Can-can I come back?" I asked saddened by what I was just told.

"If you listen to what I tell you and follow instructions," he said. I sat down on a large tree root that the firefly was able to light up for me.

 "I'm listening I said."
