Lucas' POV:

I study the nagas from within Felix's arms. The amazement radiates off of them, as their blue eyes study me right back.

"Where did your father find it?" The smaller naga questions Felix, the corners of his lips almost touching his eyes offering a smile. I turn away from him and bring my hands up to my rising and falling chest in a protective manner.

"What is its sex?"

"Why does it have two tails?"

"How is its hair so soft?!"

"Yash! Yug! Calm yourselves! You are scaring the poor thing."

He wasn't lying my heart was thumping against my chest faster than it ever has.

"Sorry. This is just so... weird!" Yash says.

"Look at it. It is so shy and cute," Yug says slithering into my line of vision.

I blush and hide my face into Felix's neck. Felix tenses under me and slowly lifts himself up from the bed.

    "Lucas, what are you doing?"

"Huh?" I ask as I lift my face from his neck.

He visibly relaxes when I do and looks at me with a confused look.

"I thought you were going to bite me."

    "Why would you think that?"

"You placed your face onto my neck. That usually ends with a bite with nagas."

"Sorry that's something I usually do when I'm scared, nervous, embarrassed or sad."

Tears well up in my eyes as I remember how I used to hide my face in my mom's neck. She didn't care how old I got I was always her little baby.

"Why are you sad, human?" Felix asks me, while wiping a lone tear that managed to escape my eyes.

I shake my head. "N-No reason," I whisper, wiping more escaping tears.

"Do not lie to me, Lucas. It is okay to tell me," Felix says lifting my chin with his pointer finger and making me look at him.

"S-Sorry," I whimper unable to hold back my tears anymore.

I softly sob as I look into his purple eyes. He pulls me into a tight hug and rubs soothing circles on my back.

"Hey. What is wrong? Do you not like it here?"

I can't answer him as I place my face back into his neck. He pulls me away from his body and sits me on his tail.

"Please tell me what is wrong, Lucas."

"Can I try?" We both look over to Yug as he comes closer.

I whimper as he reaches for me and scoot closer to Felix.

"I am not going to hurt you, Lucas. You can trust me." Yug's soft blue eyes look into my green ones, and he gives me a genuine smile.

"P-Promise?"

He nods so I reach out for him. He grabs me and goes to the corner of the room.

"Can you tell me what's wrong?" Yug whispers while running his fingers through my hair.

My sobs have turned into sniffles and hiccups.

"I-I miss m-m-my mommy," I manage to get out in between hiccups and sniffles.

"Oh. You miss your mother. Can I ask you a question?"

I nod and lean into his warmth.

"How old are you, Lucas?"

I hesitantly look up at him and speak. "I-I'm eight years old."

"Wow! Eight years old? Can you guess how old I am?"

"Maybe sixteen."

"Nope. I am thirty years old."

My eyes grow wide with surprise. "Really?"

"Yep! Yash is also thirty and Felix is thirty-five."

"You guys don't look that old."

"Can I ask you something else?"

"Yes," I say looking up into his eyes.

    "What is your gender?"

    "I'm a boy."

Yug hums and pets my head. "Are you feeling better now."

I nod and curl up in his arms.

    "Are you tired?"

I nod again and close my eyes. I feel Yug start moving and then I hear more voices. I don't pay attention to any of them as I start to drift off into a restless sleep.

Felix's POV:

"Thank you, Yug. What was wrong?" I question as I take Lucas from his arms.

"He misses his mother. Felix, do you know how old he is?"

"Lucas is a he? No I do not know his age."

"Yes I asked him. He is only eight. He is far to young to be without a mother."

"Poor little thing! I wonder if he lost his mother."

"You should question him about it when he wakes. Maybe you should also ask Alpha Niko where he found him and if he had a family."

I nod and swat Yash's hand away when he tries to touch Lucas' hair. I glare at him before turning back to Yug.

"If he is only eight why does he look like he is at least seventeen."

"I think humans age differently than us. My theory is that we have longer lifespans than they do. Anyway Yash and I have to go."

"What, no! Let me touch his hair one more time, Felix. Please!"

I sigh and bring Lucas out toward Yash but still in my arms.

"I think I am jealous of this human's hair," Yash says touching and grabbing Lucas' hair. "Have you felt it yet?"

"Yes I have felt his hair, Yash."

"How are you two not mesmerized by it?"

I cannot help but chuckle at Yash. He reminds me of a hatchling snuggling and grabbing onto it's favorite fur.

"The next time you two come over I'll let you touch Lucas' hair. If he allows you to."

Yash excitedly nods. They both leave and Lucas and I are alone again. I smile down at my sleeping human. I lay him down on my bed of furs.

"Sleep well my little human."

I leave and go look for my father to ask him questions about Lucas and his kind.
