Niko's POV:My son comes into my room smiling. His eyes immediately meet mine and his smile grows bigger.
"Hello, father. How are you doing?"
"What do you want, Felix?"
"Wow! How could you just assume I want something from you? I cannot just come check on my father?"
"Sorry. I am fine. How are you?"
"I am good. Can I ask you questions about the human now?"
"So that is what you wanted? If you need something just tell me, Felix."
"My apologies, father. It is just that I have been asking you for a lot lately and I do not want you to get stressed. I know it is a lot of work being Alpha and taking care of me."
I cannot help but feel amused at my son. "Do not apologize. You will always come before my Alpha duties. Now, what do you want to know about the human?"
He does not hesitate and gets straight to the questions.
"Where did you find Lucas?" Felix questions while slithering over to my bed. He lays his top half on it and pulls the furs closer.
"He was on the south side of the territory freezing behind a tree."
"Did he have a family with him?"
"No he did not. It was just him."
"That is strange. Do humans cry a lot?"
"It depends on their age and personalities. Young humans will cry a lot and so will humans with sensitive feelings just like nagas."
As my son was about to ask another question a naga quickly comes into the room.
"Alpha Niko!" The naga says looking tired, like he rushed to get here.
I growl and slither over to the naga. I sit up on my coils and tower over the naga who bows their head in submission. A gasp escapes the male as my hand wraps around his neck and he is lifted off the ground.
"What do you think you are doing in my cave without my permission?!" I hiss at the pathetic naga in my hands.
"I-I am s-sorry," he apologizes while clawing at my hand. "I-I was told t-to inf-inform you that there h-has been an attack."
I loosen my grip on his neck and motion for him to continue.
"Some u-unknown nagas snuck into our territory a-a-and they..."
"What did they do, boy?!"
"They killed two of the pack's hatchlings!"
Felix's POV:
To anyone who didn't know my father he would look calm, a little too calm for this situation. I know how he really feels. I can see the raging storm in his eyes. The storm that can only be calmed by blood. He slowly turns to me. The look in his eyes makes me want to cower in fear, but I know better.
"Can I answer more of your questions later, Felix?"
I quickly nod. "I understand, father."
My father leaves and the naga leaves right after him.
I move after awhile of just laying on my father's bed. I remove myself from the furs I got comfortable on and go to check on Lucas.
