My Naga Owners

5)-In the Meadows

    Felix leaves the cave with me still in his arms. I sniff and nuzzle my face into Felix's neck. We stay outside until I hear a loud voice.

    "Felix! I thought I would have to go by myself."

    I tense and look up at Felix's face. He looks angry for a second before putting on a calm face.

    "I told you I would go with you."

    "I know. You have just bee- What is that?"

Felix attempts to turns me around but he can't with my death grip on him. He tries to pull me off again and manages to do it. I'm turned to face the naga that Felix was talking to.

The naga has a long black tail that sparkles in the sunlight. He has tan skin that makes it seem like he spends a lot of time outside. His pitch black curly hair falls onto his forehead. The bright silver eyes that he owns stare intensely into my eyes.

"This is Lucas. My human," Felix says holding me out.

I stay frozen as the naga's eyes roam my body. His eyes then meet mine again and he smiles brightly.

    "He is interesting. Where did you get him? Was he traded to you?"

"No. My father found him."

I'm brought back to Felix's chest. I nuzzle his neck with my nose and sigh.

    "So who did you have in mind for a mate?" Felix questions while scratching my head.

I hum and try to press myself more into Felix. The warm sunlight spreads across my back which feels really good. Felix and the other naga keep talking but I don't pay attention to what they're saying.

Felix starts to move and I watch as trees slowly come and leave my vision. I watch as two squirrels chase each other down a tree. When their both on the ground the one that was chasing the other stops and stands on its back paws. It looks at us and makes a sound that sounds like 'kuk'. The squirrel makes the noise a few more times before running up a nearby tree.

Third POV:

The forest around the nagas and human is quiet and serene. They approach the village and watch as most of the nagas and lamias give Lucas weird looks.

Lucas buries his face in Felix's neck, not liking all of the attention. Felix quickly attempts to comfort the child by rubbing his back. The child can still feel eyes burning holes into him.

Lucas' stomach rumbles and he remembers how he hasn't eaten in a few days. He decides to ignore it and wait until Felix isn't busy to ask for food.

    "Where would Raine be at this time?" Felix asks the curious naga at his side.

    "She will most likely be at the meadows with Jewel and Aura. Why does your human like to hide it's face?"

"I assume it is because he is young. Just like how hatchlings like to hide from strangers I think it is the same with humans."

    "Oh. That is interesting."

    Felix nods. His purple gaze wanders over the meadow. All the flowers have bloomed. Their was a small group of lamias in the center of the meadow.

    Lucas stares at all the flowers in wonder and awe. He can't contain his excitement as he wiggles from Felix's arms.

    Felix panics as Lucas falls but the human quickly lands on his feet. He bolts towards all the flowers.

    Lucas giggles as he picks a big yellow flower. He skips back over to Felix and shows him the flower.

    "Look! It's a sunflower!" Exclaims the little boy as he shoves it toward the shocked naga.

    "Y-Yeah," Felix says coming out of his shock.

    Lucas hands the flower to Felix then happily runs back over to the meadow of flowers. He sits down and watches as a ladybug lands on a leaf. He gently picks the ladybug up and puts it on his arm.

    "Hi, Mr. Ladybug. How are you?"

    The ladybug's wings flutter before resting again. It crawls around on Lucas' arm causing the little boy to let out a small giggle.

    Felix watches the little boy play around in the flowers. He then turns to Ender who has a puzzled look on his face.

    None of the hatchlings have ever been interested in flowers as much as this little human is. They would usually give them a glance and go away. Sometimes a flower would be plucked by a curious hatchling but they've never been given this much attention by a youngling.

Lucas runs around the meadow with his new friend, Mr. Ladybug. The boy has no idea where he has gotten all of this energy from. He just knows the flowers made him really excited.

    The boy runs into something hard and lands on his bum. He rubs his forehead and looks up at what he ran into.

    "Hello there, little one."

    Lucas looks up at the most beautiful woman he's ever seen.

She has brown hair that reflects the sun. Flowers are randomly placed in the braid that she has. Her blue eyes stare at him with curiosity. Her straight nose and cheeks are red because she's a little sick. The two plump lips that she owns forms a smile.

    He blushes and quickly stands up. He looks into her blue eyes and stutters something out.

    "I-I'm sorry. I d-didn't see you."

"That's okay, little one. Where are your parents?"

    The strange woman picks an unsure Lucas up. She looks down and an understanding look appears on her face.

"Where's your owner?"

Lucas looks at her confused. Before he can ask her what she means by owner, Felix rushes into the scene.

"Raine! My apologies. Are you okay?" Felix says while slithering over to her and his pet.

    "I'm fine. This little guy just bumped into me. I assume he's yours. Your scent is all over him," the lamia says handing Felix the human.

    Lucas looks up at Felix who is talking to Raine. He then looks at his arm. Mr. Ladybug is gone. Lucas quickly starts looking around for his new friend.

    He finds him on the naga's shoulder. Lucas scoops the ladybug up which grabs Felix's attention.

"Look, Felix! This is Mr. Ladybug."

"He is very pretty," Felix says barely giving the little bug a glance.

"You are very pretty, aren't you?" Lucas questions the ladybug.

The little boy has forgotten that he was ever sad earlier. He laughs as the ladybug flies onto his nose.

    "Oh he's so precious! Are you willing to trade him?"

    Lucas freezes and looks at the female naga. She seems very nice but he wants to stay with Felix. Felix wouldn't trade him, would he?

    His grip on Felix gets tighter and the naga notices.

    "I am sorry, but I cannot trade Lucas."

"That's okay. I understand why you wouldn't want to," she says smiling at the little human boy.

    Lucas relaxes in Felix's arms and smiles. Felix isn't trading him.
