I start to grow worried as we get farther and farther away from the village, farther away from Felix."Guys don't you think this is far enough to play," I say starting to regret leaving Yug and Yash.
"We are almost there, Lucas. Just a little farther," Genus says giving my hand a gentle squeeze.
"What if Felix starts looking for me? I don't want him to be worried."
"You will be back home soon but first we need you to meet someone," Fortis says looking kind of irritated at my excessive talking.
"I thought we were going to play."
Silence.
"Guys, I want to go back."
Silence.
Third POV:
Lucas didn't like this. Why were they being so weird?
He tries to take his hands out of the two hatchlings hands but a strong pressure around his waist causes his struggles to stop.
"O-Ow! St-Stop!" Lucas cries out and whimpers.
"Stop fighting, Lucas," Magna hisses. "Now is not the time."
"Magna, do not hurt him and both of you do not start being rude."
Magna apologizes and Fortis just grunts.
"I-I want t-to go back," Lucas whines, starting to get a bad feeling in his gut.
"We are already here," Genus says, calmly giving Lucas' hand another gentle squeeze.
Lucas looks up at the biggest tree he's ever seen. It looks like it's made out of bronze but as he reaches out to touch the tree he realizes it has the texture of normal tree bark.
The young boy looks up and stares in amazement. Many bronze branches reach around trees that can't compete with the height of the magical looking tree.
Emerald green leaves hide many things from Lucas' sight but he's sure he seen a few short different colored vines moving around. The leaves covers everything below the tree in shadows.
As they get closer to the tree Lucas can see that the tree rest on a large den. Soft yellow lights finds its way out of the den, and Lucas watches as dancing shadows start to get larger and larger on the wall of the den until a naga comes into view. Soon two new people join him but they're not nagas.
Two humans follow the naga out of the den. The first human is a large man. He has what looks like a worn collar around his neck that is attached to a rope that the naga holds. Hidden under his long brown hair are scars from being bitten repeatedly by different nagas. His brown eyes are dull and lifeless as he obediently follows behind the naga.
Behind the large man is a not so large girl. She looks no older than seventeen. She's also naked and is a fighting and screaming mess. In her struggles her hair falls off her shoulders and Lucas can see bite marks where her shoulder and neck meet. Her blue eyes meet his green ones and they quickly fill with concern and rage.
"Hey!" she shouts. "Are you okay?" She continues to pull against the rope that's connected to the old collar around her neck.
Lucas timidly nods his head and avoids looking at her bare body. He was taught it was wrong to look at someone while naked.
"They're not hurting you, are they? Let him go! He's just a little kid!"
The naga that's holding their ropes finally gets tired of all her struggling and screaming. He wraps her in his gray tail and moves her hair to the side. He slowly sinks his fangs into her neck causing her to grunt in a moment of pain. His forked tongue licks at the two specks of blood on her neck.
When she's released from his tail she whimpers and stumbles forward into his arms. She holds onto him to keep herself up on her wobbly legs.
The naga sighs and picks the now unconscious girl up bridal style. He pets her head and continues on his way.
The man who's following the naga continues to follow him even with his rope dragging on the ground behind him. He eyes Lucas with pity before bringing his gaze back forward.
Lucas stares at them with a worried expression. "Will they be okay?"
"Yes," Genus says giving Lucas a pat on the head, trying to comfort him.
"Why'd he bite her?"
"She was being disobedient. She deserved more than a bite," Magna hisses, glaring as they enter the den.
"She didn't deserve to get bit. She was probably just scared and angry," Lucas says trying to defend her.
"Their is no need for those emotions. Her owner will protect her with his life and he would only do something to make her angry if she makes him angry."
"Maybe she didn't want to go with him. She shouldn't be forced."
"It does not matter," Magna hisses. "He feeds them, gives them water, and a warm place to stay. I know this because those are requirements to own a human. The least she can do is be obedient. All he's trying to do is go clean her anyway. That is one of the hardest things to do with new humans. Do you humans hate being clean?"
"Th-That's not it. We just rather clean ourselves. We usually don't like people seeing us naked."
"Why? It must be amazing having someone doing everything for you. You are treated like kings and queens when your good. What is not to like about that?" Magna questions with a hint of jealousy.
Lucas stays quiet and continues to walk, realizing this is a fight he probably won't win.
The boy and the hatchlings continue their walk into the den. Making their way to the kings throne room, unaware of the freaking out Felix back at the village.
