"We can stay here as long as you want, Gracie's with her gram and gramps." Jeff explained. It had been 20 minutes since her breakdown, she hadn't built up the confidence to go and see her brother. Tallulah had left a while ago, saying she needed to change and sleep.

"I'm ready."

Jeff had a hold of her hand as she sat beside her brother. She touched his wired up arm, gentle enough not to hurt. He was sleeping, pain evident on his face. No matter how many times he'd been in hospital, she could never get used to it. Her parents were arriving soon to discuss the damage of Nick's body with the doctors.

nat🖤: how're you?

liv🥺: he looks horrible, it's hard to look at

nat🖤: if i could give you a hug, i would. i love you so much and i know you'll get through this.

liv🥺: i love you

nat🖤: i love you too

When her family finally arrived, they'd all gathered in the room to sit with Nick. Everyone was speaking to each other, but Olivia was focused on Nick. She was counting the spaces between each beep. The distance between them was getting shorter. She frowned and looked over to Nick, who was slightly convulsing.

"Guys, something's happening to Nick!" She exclaimed. Whilst her mother was calling the nurses in, her father was shouting for Nick to wake up, a flood of people had pushed her to the back of the room. Before she knew it, they were being ushered out to the waiting room.

House after, they impatiently waited for a doctor to open the door. Grace was watching tv on Jeff's phone and Olivia was half asleep on Jeff's lap. Everyone was waiting for quite a while before the doctor had emerged from the room. They'd spent a while checking him and assessing him. She closed the door and turned to my family with a sorrowful look on her face. Olivia's heart dropped.

"Given Nicholas' history with his lungs, the crash had affected him worse than it would a normal, healthy person. His body went into shock and his lungs had stopped taking in oxygen. Unfortunately, there was nothing we were doing that worked." She explained.

Tallulah and Olivia's mother had clutched each other as they cried. Olivia's father had sunken into his seat, hands over his face. Olivia was deadpanned. She didn't know how to react. She turned to Jeff, who looked distraught. Grace, who was confused as to why everyone was crying, stood beside her parents.

Jeff pulled Olivia into a hug, cradling her. Her mom said she went off the rails whilst he was hospitalised, nobody had experienced her dealing with her brother's death. So they didn't know what they were in for.
