Crap.

I pushed off the ground and lunged away from the first attack as a crimson streak tailed after me. The assailant made a small indent on the ground as his wild eyes searched around for me.

"Shit, she's fast....!"

The second attacker, a female this time, hastily shot bolts of purple in my direction. The bolts became surrounded with a shade of my red energy, halting inches away from my face before completely dissipating.

"What the hell...?!" She shrieked in frustration and drew more power to shoot at me, spurting a large ball of energy in my direction. I held up two fingers and immediately halted the lavender ball of energy in front of me, squaring my stance as I hurled it towards her in a blur. Before she could scream, the ball exploded in a cloud of purple, knocking her and the first assailant out.

"You'll pay for that!" Two boys launched at me.

I skidded to the side in a crimson streak before grabbing the first boy charging at me, uppercutting him. Before he could hit the ground, I lunged towards the other side of his body and whirled around with a kick, kicking him with such force that cracks emerged on the wall from the impact.

I focused my attention on the last attacker, noting the dread that contorted his facial features. Before he could run away, my body shot towards him like shrapnel as I knocked him into the other side of the wall.

"Ugh...."

I wobbled slightly, suddenly aware of the lightheadedness that resided in my body. It was easy for me to overstrain my body just from one use of my abilities. These people weren't even difficult to defeat; had it been individuals in my tier I would've keeled over and probably passed out.

To distract myself from fainting, I slowly turned my head towards the barely conscious boy I protected and kneeled down.

His once gelled hair was now unkempt and mottled with blood from the beating, falling in thick tufts to cover his injured face. His chest rose and fell in shallow breaths and was covered by his bloodied uniform, the fibers of his white collared shirt splattered with his own blood. My eyes fell to the boy's hands and observed his cream colored skin disturbed by scratches and bruises forming underneath the surface.

Even though he didn't stand a chance, he still went down with a fight.

I tentatively reached out and grabbed the boy's arm to use whatever strength I had left in me. But his deadweight made him slump back to the floor in defeat, with a small groan escaping his lips.

"I need you to help me," I whispered close to his ear.

I grabbed his arm once again, and let him stir a bit to gather whatever senses he could use at the moment, and hauled him up before slipping his arm around my shoulder. His dense body gave me the urge to collapse; I was small in form compared to him, and his body made my leg feel like twigs. But I resisted the fatigue as we shuffled out of the secluded alleyway.

"Delta...!"

I heard the familiar flutter of footsteps approaching me before skidding to a halt. Isen's eyes widened with a melody of confusion and astonishment before a tsunami of questions tumbled out of his mouth in a stutter.

"D-Delta? What happened? He.....he...."

Isen's eyes trailed down to the boy's decrepit body, eyeing him with an expression of.....discontent? Hatred? But I didn't have time to dwell on it.

"Isen." I interrupted sharply, my voice painted with irritability and fatigue. "Where's the infirmary?"

"Delta, you don't understand, he's—"
