X/XX: Delta befriended the cripple and went to go get boba together......
......despite periodic absences, she still manages to visit Blyke, Remi, and I for quick study sessions.
......saw her confronting two mid tiers before using her ability to intimidate them and save John, who was didn't appear conscious.
....with her and John stepping into a black vehicle after school hours. To my knowledge, Delta never returned to school that night.
.....is an observant, calculated individual. Her abilities can be categorized as Physics Manipulation? She can move with startling speed and has the ability to control objects in motion.....
My eyes scanned over the texts before I placed them back in the folder with a soft sigh.
No doubt, Isen's good at scraping up information, albeit inconspicuously. Every moment, whether or not I crossed paths with him, was all scrawled out on fresh sheets of paper, neatly labeled by date. Although he didn't have concrete evidence to what my abilities were, the various theories written on a whole other sheet were fairly close to the real thing. Arlo was smart to pick Isen for this ploy; knowing about Isen's Hunter ability, Arlo specifically knew that Isen could use that to his advantage to gather information about me more efficiently. Had it been anyone else, I doubt they could scrape up content as accurately as him.
With John's phone out of commission, Isen was gracious enough to pinpoint John and tell me his location. I felt a strange uneasiness wash over me as I stepped out into the open courtyard, with the once comforting silence now holding a tense ambience. I traversed through the empty area, registering the sounds of confrontation and pain not too far off from my location.
Coming to the realization that John was alone, without a second thought, I lunged to the confrontation with my abilities, letting a streak of red tail behind me before softly skidding to halt.
Four mid tiers that I recognized as Tanner, Illena, Wenqi, and Rouker stood in front of John's beat up body. He wobbled slightly as he weakly squared his stance at them, before catching sight of me and widening his eyes.
"Delta...don't...." He choked.
"Delta?" Illena sneered. "What are you—?"
Rouker nudged her, staring at me with an apprehensive look in his eyes. She whirled around in frustration before mirroring the same expression as her friend.
"What's the meaning of this?" I asked briskly, curling my hands into angry fists as I approached them with confident strides.
"D-Delta!" Illena faltered, attempting to compose herself with a cool voice, "This cripple was bothering us, you see, so I...."
Her voice trailed off as I approached John, slipping his arm around my shoulder as they parted away for us to move.
I didn't want to waste my time on this. I was getting sick of the cat and mouse game that emerged whilst I wasn't around. With every moment he was out alone, people sought out the opportunity to beat him to a pulp, only cowering when I appeared. As much as I wanted to give them a taste of their own medicine, I didn't have time, nor the energy at the moment to indulge on revenge.
"How can you save him....?" Illena suddenly shouted angrily behind me, taken aback by my actions. "Why are you wasting your time on him? He's useless! He contributes nothing to this school, much less this world!"
I stopped mid step.
No, she's wrong. The moments I cherished with him since I stepped foot on this campus told me otherwise. The laughs, the comfort, the optimism that was uncanny to Irel's own enthusiasm was something I was eternally thankful for. John had a way of splashing color onto a dull canvas; he had the charisma to bring life into a room. The link that allowed me to recognize my very own emotions was now reconnected because of John. The only reason why people failed to acknowledge this was because they sought out validation through what kind of abilities people had, not by their moral compass.
