John.
No.....
My eyes widened in horror as I pressed my shaky hands against Seraphina's torso, pathetically attempting to staunch the blood that seeped through her cardigan. The blood stained my hands, spreading across the fibers of her clothing. A knife was beside her, painted with dark red blood to the hilt.
How did this happen? She was fine when I left for school. To be injured to such a severe extent.....how is this even possible?
I snatched her phone and frantically thumbed through her contacts, promptly stopping once I found Elaine's name.
"Hey Seraphina!" Her high pitched peal rang through the receiver. "Are you all packed up?"
"Elaine!" I blurted. "Quick, I need you to come over right away! Sera's--!"
Before I could explain the situation, the line went dead.
That bitch.....just wait till I get my hands on you!
After another failed attempt, I resorted to Arlo, gritting my teeth in frustration as I awaited for his answer. After a few moments, the ringing stopped, followed by his obnoxious voice.
"Seraphina, What do you-"
"Arlo," I said between gritted teeth, glancing down at Sera's unconscious body."What do you want?"
"Grab Elaine and come to my place. Now."
"What? Why would you need her-"
"Just do it!"
My voice bitterly echoed in the room, resonating unpleasantly as I hung up. I clenched my jaw angrily as I set her head on top of my backpack, patiently awaiting for their arrival. After fifteen minutes, I heard the door click open to reveal Arlo and Elaine's horrified expressions as they studied the scene before them.
"Seraphina!" Elaine unthinkingly stumbled over to us before collapsing to her knees. "Wake up! How did you end up like this....?!
Her eyes shifted to me in disgust and fear, clasping her trembling hands together before she spoke.
"J-John....." she began shakily, "You creep! W-what the heck did you do?! How dare you hurt her?! What did she do to deserve this??" She narrowed her eyes at me. "You better explain, now!"
Ugh.....you stupid little-!
In an instant, I raised my hand before swinging it across Elaine's face. She fell back, gripping her injured face in fear and pain as I maliciously peered into her eyes.
"WILL YOU SHUT THE F*CK UP ALREADY?!" I snarled. "I didn't call you here to listen to your worthless rambling....! HURRY UP AND HEAL HER!"
I watched as her glowing hands trembled over Seraphina's stomach, slowly but surely slowing the blood that poured out of the wound. Her breathing became even as it shrunk, with the only remnants of her injury as the dried blood on her clothes.
Good, she's stabilizing, I thought as her shallow breaths slowed to deep and even inhales. At least Elaine can do that much.
"O-okay. All done. Most of the damage was from the stab wound. She should be fine now." Elaine said weakly, avoiding my eyes as she hugged herself.
"Then why hasn't she woken up yet?" I questioned bluntly, watching as she shuddered at my voice.
"It's strange. She....she's perfectly healthy, yet something's off."
