The moon in Yokohama city shined brightly as ever. It's closeness, or the humongous size of it, amazed Taiyo who was looking at it from the big window in the hallway. The other Port Mafia members have already left by order of their boss; as another member came to alert them and told them to rest as well.
30 minutes in of the obnoxious bickering, the brown haired suicidal maniac has finally calmed down. He stood beside his superior, calmly drinking a bottle of iced tea. "A great view, isn't it?" Taiyo glanced at him with the corner of her eye, both hands at her back. "Much greater than blood, I suppose."
"I thought you liked the color red?" Taiyo loosely smiled, "I don't have a favorite color. Plus, just because it's my gift, doesn't mean I like seeing it all the time." She put her hands to her front, getting comfortable in her position. Dazai seemed to be comfortable as well; sipping on the rim of his iced tea.
"Well, how about brown?" He smirked, knowing full well that he was covered in the color. "Hmm, not really." Taiyo put a finger to her chin, smirking as well since she knew what his motives were. Dazai choked as he kneeled down to sulk. "So mean, Kurishima-san..."
She smiled as she crossed her arms this time, "I gotta say though, brown does look nice on you." She proudly said, not knowing what that did to Dazai's ego. He rose up from his last position, smiling ear to ear.
Looking back to the view of the moon, they stayed quiet. Both of them were just basking in the breath taking view.
"Are you still mad at me, Dazai?" He glanced at her with the corner of his eye. Taking a sip, he exhaled out a freshened sigh.
Dazai himself didn't know what to feel. His mind has been mushed to piece the second she stepped foot in the office. Half of him respected her, half of him didn't. He is in a devil-angel cliché, meaning he listened to little beings on his shoulder. Whenever his heart desired, he would listen to the devil more than the angel.
"I..." Taiyo noticed his hesitation and decided to cut in, "I understand if you still are, but it makes me really happy you're opening up to me again..." She gave him a wide smile, the smile so wide, it made her eyes disappear for a bit. The brunette flushed a light red, the moonlight not being on his side tonight as it bounced on his features imperfectly. This made Taiyo notice the red, making a chuckle erupt from her throat.
"You know, maybe red is my favorite color."
"W-Why is that?"
"It looks astonishingly good on you." Dazai flushed an deeper red this time when he understood her motives.
He didn't know what to say after her teasing. His usually smart mind was now low on battery and is now malfunctioning. 'What to say...?!'
Crickets chirped loudly outside, loud enough for them to be reached in the thick walls of the building. The air felt off, "Dazai."
He panicked a bit when he heard his name come out of her mouth so seriously, but he calmed down when he also felt that something was wrong. He hummed in response to her calling. Not knowing what else to say.
The air felt humid yet dry. It was as if mother nature was playing tricks on them. Taiyo couldn't quite put her finger on it, but the atmosphere felt familiar to the smell of sun after rain. The crickets chirped louder and louder, as if it were beside the two detective's ears. Louder and louder, they chirped. Seemingly to be going wild about something unknown.
