Treacherous Peak

I’ve reached the treacherous peak
Lots of voices speak
Pushing me to follow what they think
My voice shrinks like a man with infirmity

I’ve reached the treacherous peak
Assignments, grades lose meaning
Emotions, decisions take my concentration
My mood plummets, like a meteor onto earth

I’ve reached the treacherous peak
Tears, plastic smiles cover me
A regular visitor's anxiety
Drowning me in uncertainty

I’ve reached the treacherous peak
Choices tabled before me
Do I fall? Do I stand? For people cheering
You can never choose too carefully

I’ve reached the treacherous peak
The peak of youth, how joyful
Strong winds urge me downwards
Falling's like the best option

Am I right? Or wrong to succumb?
