Chapter 6: A Sudden Mishap

Two months later...

Naramdaman ko ang pag-vibrate nang kinatatayuan ko na kagagawan ni Garnet dahil sa kanyang kapangyarihan. Tumakbo ako palayo, my body can't bear to handle another damage of his damn lightning again.

Tumigil ako sa likod ng isang puno at saka hinabol ang aking hininga. Napakagat ako sa aking labi habang tinitiis ang pagtulo ng dugo mula sa kaliwang binti ko. Kahit na nanghihina ako, I still tried to freeze my wound inside to temporarily stop the blood flowing. Muntik na akong mapasigaw sa hapdi pero tiniis ko na lang. Now, my stamina is depleted even more.

"Walang taguan, Cine! Lumabas ka dyan!" I heard him shout which made me roll my eyes.

"Alright," I muttered, as if he could hear me.

Umalis ako sa pagkakatago sa puno at nakita siyang nakaharap sa pwesto ko na para bang kanina pa niya ako inaabangan. He immediately charged towards me while yellow lightning covered his whole body.

I expected for him to provoke me, that's why I quickly dodged it and rolled my body to the right. Mabilis akong tumayo at inatake siya ng ice energy na hindi niya completely naiwasan. A little part of his arm was covered with ice, and before he could break it, I launched an attack with my hand that I tried hard to cover with ice. Unfortunately, he was quick to dodge it, and made me stop in front of him, then a smirk formed on his lips.

"Bagal ata natin, Cine," pang-aasar pa niya.

Sinamaan ko siya ng tingin. "Okay."

Meanwhile, my uninjured leg moved and tried to kick him, which he avoided, but I bent all the way down while my leg was still midair. I released ice to freeze his feet on the ground, then I faced him again to kick him once more, coming from the other side.

But I didn't expect him to recover quickly even though his feet are frozen, though I know that it's not stable enough because my stamina is already wearing out. He didn't expect another kick from me, but he was prepared to release lightning through his body to get away from the ice.

When my kick made contact with him, it created a blast and made a large impact, which made me fly away. I felt my back create a thud when it hit the trunk. The lightning from Garnet still lingered in the leg I used for a kick.

Nanatili akong nakahiga sa damuhan sa gitna ng gubat kung saan kami nagte-training ni Garnet ngayon habang nakatingin sa langit na unti-unting dumidilim. Matapos naming kumain kanina ay dumiretso agad kami dito at kanina pa kami nagpapalitan ng atake.

It's been two months since I decided to go through the observatory test, which will take place at the capital. Within those months, I never missed the chance to train myself more, knowing that I might be living a different life in the following months if I'm given the chance to enter the academy.
