Merlin...

Again? What was this voice? And the next time the same voice it was louder. By now he woke up and looking around; but once again there was nothing at all. It startled him how many times he heard someone call his voice. So much that he sat up now and looked around.

'What the hell?'

This was making him feel creeped out. For now he pushed aside; thinking that it was just his imagination, nothing more.

"Merlin."

This time it wasn't in his mind but at the door so that he stood up. By now he knew who it was and he felt a bit guilty.

"You never cease to amaze me."

His lips turned into a thin line and he bit it down as well. A nervous habit he started and now he just couldn't get rid now of. The male in front of him looked mad and was walking around.

"The one thing that someone like you should do, is keep your head down. And what did you do?"

His mouth opened but he closed again, feeling bad now for Gaius.

"You behaved like an idiot."

A pout started to form as he wasn't regretting helping out and he wouldn't apologize.

"I would say I am sorry, but I am not. He deserves for treating someone like dirt. Even when he is a royal; that doesn't give him the right to treat that person like this."

A huff escaped and Gaius opened his mouth but closing it again. On the expression, he could see him surprised, proud yet resignation was seen.

"Look, it is fine to stand up for people, but you shouldn't. Just try not to do this again, because you could end up getting beheaded."

Merlin wanted to promise Gaius this, but he couldn't; knowing how he was. So that it was making it nearly impossible not to argue back.

"I would promise you this, but we both know that I won't hold this promise when something like this will happen again."

An eyebrow was raised by the male in front of him and he heard him let out a sigh.

"Just...try not to get into fights anymore."

He nodded at this.

"And your lucky that the prince was lenient with you. Although he was impressed with you. What did you do?"

This was making him blink and he chuckled now.

"I made his butt kiss the ground. I know how to fight and he dared me to do something, and I did."

He shrugged as if this was not a big deal. Gaius gaped now at him as eyes grew wide. This was making him feel smug.

"Wait you did what?!"

He felt a bit nervous now as the tone from Gaius was in an unbelievable one and he guessed that this was a big deal.

"You, did end up making the prince fall down on his butt?"

All he could do was nod; as he couldn't trust his voice at this moment.

"You are lucky because you could end up more than just in the dungeon."

He nodded knowing what could happen, but he wasn't regretting it one bit. The satisfaction was way too high.

"But there is still a little price to pay..."

Oh god, why does it feel like he would end up in an embarrassing situation?

So, it seemed that even when he impressed Arthur, he still ended up at a place which he wasn't liking; the stacks. People were throwing vegetables at him, mostly out Tomatoes or salads. This wasn't too bad and could have ended up worse than this. A laugh was heard and he knew that this was from Gaius. A huff escaped out of his mouth, and soon he pouted a bit. A female started to walk up to him.

She wore a red cape and a dress. Her hair was worn into a bum and was wavy and in a dark brown. Skin in a darker shade and she looked friendly.

"Hi, I'm Guinevere. But everyone calls me Gwen, I am Lady Morgana's maid."

This was making him confused at why she was talking to him. Maybe it was out of pity which he wouldn't be surprised with. Should he talk to her, or should he put up his defense? Defense and still talking to her; even when he wasn't wanting to make friends. Being rude was not something he wanted to be towards females. And so he put up a friendly, yet shy smile.
